need some perspective on the pp cost of my venue

Hi ladies,
I am on a tight budget for my wedding but didn't want to compromise on getting married ina beautiful place. I really just need some perspective. It still feels like I'm spending a ton of money. And I wonder if I would have been able to get an evening wedding for not much more. What do you ladies think? How much are you spending on your venues pp? Am i really getting a good deal?

thanks a ton!

Re: need some perspective on the pp cost of my venue

I did an outdoor garden wedding at QBG. The cost of catering pp was $65pp (included CH & sit-down reception as well as coffee & desserts). We did a consumption bar (pay for what is actually consumed by guests or opened by waitstaff)instead of an open bar. It def takes a lot of negotiating back & forth btwn your venue to get them to throw freebies or slash the pp. Let your venue know that while you appreciate they lowered the pp, it is still a bit out of your budget and you would love to book and work with them for your wedding. Let them know what price range works for you, for ex. $60pp (incl. tax & tip). If they are not able to reduce the pp any further, ask if there is any way you can reduce the cost pp w/o sacrificing the date that you want. For ex. consumption bar or replacing signature cocktail drink/beer instead of an open bar, 3-course intead of 4-course sit-down dinner (beware of buffets, it actually cost more b/c of the stations require refills of trays), serving cake instead of dessert station. See if you can work out something with your venue to get around the pricing that you want- altering or substituting dishes & drinks, etc.
