Need some prayers for my dog

Need some prayers for my dog

Our yorkie doesn't seem to be doing well these days. he has been walking around in circles alot. we took him to the vet & he said he has vertigo & nothing really he can do about it because he is 16 yrs old. he could have a brain tumor but the tests would be alot of money & even if it is a tumor they couldn't do anything about it because of his age. My DH has had him for 16 yrs & we all moved in together 2 years ago. he doesn't seem himself. doesn't even seem like a dog. its like he is in a shell. My MIL thinks we should put him down because he seems to be suffering. My DH says he isn't ready too & i really don't want to bring it up. He has been with DH through alot of tough times. Even though i have had only 2 yrs. it breaks my heart to know he wouldn't be around. I love to death & would do anything for him. i can't stand to see him like this. My MIL doens't think i should bring this up to DH. Honestly i don't think he would agree to put him down. i don't even know who makes that decision. i never had a dog before. i would luv to have around forever but i also don't want to see him suffer. i tried to even convince myself that he is alright. I thought as long as he has an appetite he is fine.

sorry if i am rambling on, i have been crying most of the night. pets really do become part of the family.

DH is sleeping & waking up to go to work soon

Please say prayers that we make the right decision & hoping that my doggie isn't suffering

I have been in your position and it is awful Just remember to do what is best and humaine for your doggie, and not what makes you feel better. I kept my dog around for weeks when she was clearly suffering and I've always regretted it Its an awful decision, and I hope you make peace with yourself when you haave to make it

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know how hard it is to make a decision like this one. You are right pets do become family members and it is so difficult to let them go. My heart goes out to you

It's sooo hard to make these decisions because our dogs are part of the family.

Just reading your post brought me to tears. I am so sorry....we have a dog and i don't know what I would do if this happened to him. I hope you both can come to the best decision for the dog.

Re: Need some prayers for my dog

I'm so sorry you are going through this. In January I had to make the decision to put our family dog down and it was very very rough. I think i cried on and off for 2 weeks. As much as we didnt want her to go it was best for her. She couldnt walk anymore, wouldnt eat anymore and she just gave me this look like 'im tired please help me'. Youll know when its time. If the dog is acting like a shell of its former self, and hes just walking in circles the time might be now. 16yrs is a good life for any dog. You dont want those good years over shadowed by months of suffering right? Did the vet have any recommendations? I believe by law they cannot tell you what to do. They can only suggest options.
