Need Some Reassurance!!!

Need Some Reassurance!!!

So we are doing our wedding on a Sunday in June (we didn't do a Saturday night because we had to wait until after sunset for the ceremony (we're Jewish) and then it was starting at almost 9pm by the time the rabbi got to us which was just too late). Originally we figured we would do the 'twighlight' time, not quite afternoon (we def didnt want that) and not quite evening (so that people wouldn't feel like they had to leave) and we planned on a 4pm invite--party over at 10 or 10:30. Now I am worrying that it will still have that afternoon feeling (which I am not trying to say is bad, just isn't for us) and we should push it back later an hour or two...any thoughts???

Afternoon isn't bad at all in the summer... it'll be beautiful out! I'm Jewish too and we've been to many Sunday weddings. Also, we're getting married Saturday night in May and calling the invitation for 8:30 at night... Ugh! Not ending till 3AM, but it's our only choices... later Saturday night or Sunday afternoon. Also, you don't want guests to leave early if you have it late on Sunday.

I think its great.....not afternoonish at all. It is an evening wedding for sure.
Afternoon means 11:30-1 pm start.
Its perfect!
(although maybe I'm prejiduce since I'm doing the same thing)

I was kind of concerned too. My wedding is @ 4pm. But, I would NEVER consider 4pm 'afternoon'.

Bonnie- I'm getting married on a Sunday night at Beth El as well, as we also went with the twilight package. It will still have an evening feel to it, because if you put 4pm down on the invite, the cocktail hour won't start until 5pm and by the time dinnner is served, it's already close to 8. It will definitely feel like an evening wedding. Plus, you run the risk of people leaving early if you do it too much later on a Sunday night----or even if they don't leave, they might stop drinking earlier since they know they have work the next day. Don't worry!

The time you chose sounds perfect and seems like exactly what you want.

Love the date by the way.

I, too, am doing twilight, but because of FH, am actually doing a 3, I think...at any rate, most likely, the reception area will make it feel like an evening party and the atmosphere will help...it'll be great!!
