I am starting to make appointments to pick a photographer/videographer and I'm looking for a little advice. After I booked my hall I read a lot of helpful hints on what to ask for, what they will throw in, and other random things that I didn't even think of. Is there anything that I should know before I go... I really have no idea what I'm doing - it's kind of pathetic!!! Thanks ladies!

I think I asked about the style they use ie. more posed pics or candids? digital or film? do you get to keep the proofs/nedatives or disk and if not how much extra? Have they shot your location? Oh and check out the studio in case it rains.
Good luck!

Ask on average how many pictures they take? How many proofs you get? Digital or film? whats included in the package? Parent albums? if so how many and what size? do you include thank you cards? do you get to keep the negatives/files on a cd? or do you have to pay for them? see if they give you 2 phototgraphers or do you have to pay extra? traditional? Photojournalistis? candids? black & white? you want to make sure they do a variety ask to see some of their latest work also see if you can see proofs..in an album they tend to show their best work only
As for video? see what they offer? photo montages? i would definitely see a few before booking so you can compare and figure out your budget!!!
I booked Spelman Photography. The owner Christine is really nice and sweet and I just loved her. I also got video with them. She gives you two photographers if you get certain collections...here is the website...I would definitely make an appt to see her.
I went to a few places and priced around. I knew who I wanted to book, so I priced around and then went back and told them what another company was going to give me, and they gave me the same package and beat their price. I got thank you's thrown in, extra DVD's for the video, larger bridal and parent albums, on top of the package that they gave me. I am very happy with my photo and video package. Good luck. The only ting I can say is definitely shop around and don't be shy when asking for more.

Also ask them how long the photographer and videographer is booked for. Our place gives you 10 hours with each, however we are paying $100 additional to have the photographer there for 12 hours. Maybe you can get that worked into your package as well (if you need more time than 10 hours).
