Need some words of encouragement

Need some words of encouragement

I'm so bummed today. One of my great friends (one of my BMs) moved to Colorado this summer. She came home this weeknd for a long weekend to vist. SHe just informed me that she is 6 weeks pregnant!! I was shocked at first because she and her husband have een having a tough time in Colorado (he went out there to start his own buisness and its not going well). I felt horrible because I had to 'fake' being excited for her. I feel like a lot of the focus of my wedding has been taken away by people around me. My sister, who is unwed, got pregnant and had a baby not long ago. A few weeks ago I had an argument with my mom because I felt that my sister, who is my MOH, wasnn't doing anything for the wedding and hadn't started planning anything and I was upset. My mom actually told me that I was being selfish and that my sister was going through a lot and that I should have postponed my wedding when I found out she was pregnant because I was putting added stress on the family. I have been with my FH for 7 years and had waited soooo long to get engaged and I felt like no one was really excited.
And now my friend, who has been planning my bachelorette party and has been my biggest supporter is pregnant. I feel like I have been totally left out of the loop. My wedding is in July so she will be like 5 months pregnant and will be starting to show. THe worst thing is, that I was really looking forward to having a good time at my bachelorette party, which she is planning and the wedding partying and celebrating with her and I feel like its going to completely change. I feel horrible that I can't be happy for her and feel like a selfish B****, but in one way I'm totally jealous that she is pregnant, I'm dying to have kids, and sad that our relationship is going to change.
I don't know what to do to be happy with what I have and get over the fact that she pregnant and support her. ANy advice??

I'm so sorry that your family hasnt been more excited about your wedding. But let me tell you -- on your wedding day, all eyes are going to be on YOU an your new hubby -- and nobody can steal that spotlight. I know its hard to be excited for your friend, but you need to be happy for her. She's still going to be there for you and for your wedding, and even though she's having a baby, your relationship isnt going to change much. Its just a new stage in your friendship -- for both of you -- she probably is having similar feelings about you getting married.

Dont worry about others stealing your thunder -- you're going to be a beautiful bride and as the wedding gets closer, you'll be surprised how many people are going to be getting more and more excited for you!

Oh I am sorry you are feeling this way...i am the last of my friends to get married, and they all have a few kids already..so it's not the same as when they were all getting married and we were single...but i see how my friends are happy and i would never want them to give that up for my one day...i know it's tough...i didn't even ask any of my friends to be in my BP because of this...they are all busy and I didn't want to burden them with the expense...but they are still great friends...even if we can't get together as much as we wish..it's all part of growing up and starting lives...you will get used to it..and then someday when you get pregnant your friend will be able to offer lots of great advice...try and focus on the positive..your friend is having a baby..you are getting married...i know sometimes we wish people would be more excited for us...but that's just life..i know how you feel though..

Girl! I have been there...not to the extent you have but I feel for u and why you are bummed! My sis, my best friend and MOH got pregnant and will be three months at my wedding...she too was going through marital woes with her husband so I was shocked...and I thought that I wouldn't have fun with her at my bachelorette party and wedding...BUT I did! She was more fun than she was the first time she was preggo let me tell you!

AND

Although some of the spotlight leading up to your wedding might be taken away...that day no one will care about who is pregnant or what is going on....the focus will be on you and that is a promise!!!

Feel better!

Forget about everyone else right now........this is YOUR wedding and YOUR day.....you have waited 7 years for this, and it is your special day.
As for feelings of baby envy.....your day will come too!
If you want children, you will have them too!

Get excited about what is yet to come! This is only the beginning.

Sadly, I have come to learn that the only people who care about a wedding are the bride and groom. You simply cannot expect everyone else to be as excited. A lot of people do see it as one big hassle. Be happy for your sister and your friend - they didn't get pregnant to ruin your day and incovenience you. Life happens. You talk about wanting a child. If someone close to you decide to get married in the next two years, would YOU postpone having a child? I don't understnad why people's pregnacies make so many brides upset.

The previous posters are right, on your day, it will all be about you - you'll be beautiful and happy. Your mother, though, is wrong and should apologize for asking you to postpone your wedding. A baby is not something bad, it's a blessing, and it's absurd that one family can't deal with a new life and a new beginning (your wedding) all in one year. We had tons of babies at our wedding - many of my siblings and cousins all had babies or were pregnant. I was thrilled - they didn't take away from my day. Big families are a joy and I know when my time comes, I will have a child or be pregnant at someone's wedding as well. That's how it goes.

Its so hard when you're engaged and you feel like ppl don't care -- but you have to remember, you are the bride and it is your day! And you may feel jealous about your friend having kids, but it will be your turn soon! And no one will think twice about her being preggers on your wedding day! If you feel down , talk to FH! He's just as excited as you! Don't let ppl rain on your parade... they tend to do that during wedding times.
