I don't know what to get as a parents gift for my mom & dad. They are paying for the entire wedding, so I want to get them something more than a frame, but the problem is they have everything! Also, they would not appreciate a restaurant gift certificate, or a mini vacation or theater tickets, I don't have any ideas!
Can anyone suggest something that would be in the $1,000 range?
TIA!

Re: Need Suggestions
What about a gift certificate from a Travel Agent? That way they can take it at their convience. I'm sure your parents don't want anything in return, except for a Thank You!

I agree that they don't want anything, but I want to get them something.
Thanks for the suggestion!

I can't remember the exact name of the type of plate it is, but my parents have one. I can look at it when I get home if you are interested.
It's a ceramic plate made by the Amish that has their anniversary in the center and then the three kids bdays on the plate. It's decorative and my mom LOVES it. Perfect for displaying in a curio cabinet or mantle. They aren't $1000, but fairly expensive (over $500 i believe!)

That sounds beautiful, but my parents have so many decorative dishes as it is, I'm sure the one your talking about is much nicer than what they already have, but I want to get them something different.

What about parent albums? If they are not included in your package, you could arrange for it separately. I am sure they would love it!

I think this is a great idea. That way they can pick when and where they would like to go. Maybe a cruise???

No, I posted that my parents wouldn't really appreciate anything like that, it's just not their thing....

Re: Need Suggestions
I got my mom earrings from David Yurman 9they sell at Saks) & my dad Cuff Links from David Yurman too. My parents are paying for my wedding as well and I wanted them to have something to wear.

Re: Need Suggestions
why don't you look into sending them to the Caribbean for a long weekend?
if you do it during the off season (summer-fall), you can get awesome deals - around $1000 or even less.

My father does not like to travel at all. My mom on the other hand would rather go to Greece to visit family than any other place (which she does almost every year), so she wouldn't enjoy a cruise or vacation either....

How about sending them out to Montauk to Gurneys Inn & Spa. I sent my parents & soon to be in-laws there as a thank you for our engagement party.

What about having an artist doing a drawing/paiting of your parents. You can eith do a recent picture, or you can have one made from their wedding.
