need suggestions again

i wanted to thank all u girls for responding to my first dissapointment. After i reviewed all my options and the suggestions you provided, I realized i have no choice but to have my reception at the one place i really didn't want to have it at. The place itself is pretty, i just don't like the fact that everyone one i know had their wedding there. So if im forced to have the reception there. What can i do to make it stand out. I don't want it to be like all the other receptions ive been to, that were all identical.

Re: need suggestions again

hehe sorry let me explain. All the places the girls suggested in LI were beautiful but to far from where i live, over an hour drive.(i live in Brooklyn) As you probably know having a wedding in nyc is crazy expensive. The only place that is in my buget is a Polish RH(i'm polish) near my house. And everyone one i know has their wedding there, and everyone expects me to have my there as well.

If i have my reception there, I want it to be different from everyone elses. So im looking for any idea to make my wedding stand out form all the other identical ones.

does this make sense now?

around 140$ per person, (around 100 guests) on an sat. evening. As much as as would like to have it in the afternoon, FH and parents want it in the evening. And its hard to find anything in the evening in that price range.

Re: need suggestions again

I def think you can work that budget without having to sacrifice your wants/needs!!!! Take a look at that link I posted... I am positive it will help you find a place in your budget that is close enough for you and your guests

Re: need suggestions again

theres other places you can do it, you are not stuck with having to pick 1 place. There are places closer to brooklyn

Here are a few you should try:

El caribe-it is in brooklyn and i heard the place is amazing, many i know went to weddings there and said the place is beautiful and the food is amazing.

Marine Del Rey-its in the bronx and everyone raves about this place

Douglaston manor-on the border of queens and LI but not far from brooklyn at all

Watersedge-In Queens and is right over the bridge by williamsburg, so seriously like 15 mins if that

The foundry is in LIC queens which is AMAZING

the metropolitan building in LIC queens-which honestly if i had less guests would have loved it there

Re: need suggestions again

YOu could also do staten island which is very close to brooklyn and they have lots of places.

its ok to do it a little further away, doesnt have to be right by you...I live in queens but doing it in LI and i always have to travel like 30mins to an hour for weddings

Re: need suggestions again

There are wayyyy to many reception halls in Brooklyn and Queens alone for you to settle for what you don't want. Now if you see everything and you don't like it, that is another story. Take a look at wedding sites and services, you need to start visiting the halls and then when you find something you like, take the parents.

GL hun, you will find what you want, just put in the work

ETA: you have a very reasonable pp budget

LOL She hasnt responded back since i posted the link to wedding sites and services.... I think shes busy lookin up all the halls! It is what I used when first starting out and my mom laughed at me for having like 3 maps of RH's in all different boroughs

But its great b/c it really gives you a sense of where they are all located in comparison to e/o

You can also check out Leonard's of Great Neck. I booked there because most of my guests are from Queens and the Bronx and I didn't want them to travel too far. It's right on the Queens/Nassau border.

Are you talking about the reception hall located on Bath Avenue? Have you tried Russo's on the Bay in Queens.

Also, people will travel to a wedding

Also, there are some LI halls that are under 1hr drive time. JMO
