Need suggestions for a place to have a graduation party...

Cross-posted in case you don't read the NWR board! =)

Help! I have lived upstate NY for 3 years now (wow!), so I am completely out of the loop as far as restaurants or places to have a small party. I need suggestions for where to have my DH's graduation party...I'm inviting 40-ish people. We *might* get a DJ...not sure though. Do any places still have jukeboxes? LOL. Thanks for your help!

melissa

PS A place in Suffolk would be best.

Melissa, first of all...CONGRATS to your hubby!! You must be so proud of his accomplishment!

I''m assuming that you want a place with a private room, or enough room for a dancefloor, if you''re considering a DJ? What about Papa Joe''s - the place in Deer Park where LIW held last year''s GTG? That might be a bit too big for only 40 or so people. Hmm...where in Suffolk would you prefer? I''ll keep thinking...

Although not in Suffolk, but close... We had the babies'' christening at Katie Daly''s in Massapequa. They have a room downstairs with it''s own bar and a small dance floor. They were pretty reasonable. We had almost 60 people and it was a good fit.

I went to a shower once at the Irish Coffee Pub in Islip, which was very nice. I have no idea about room sizes or prices though.

Congrats to you both!

Thanks girls! I will check that place out...

Claud, anywhere in Suffolk would be fine. Western Suffolk would be nice, but I am not picky.

what about even a dave and busters or jillians?? seems a little too chidish but at the same time could be a fun relaxing day if he is into plaiyng the games and stuff with friends and family!

I 'second' PAPA Joe''s!

The room the last LIW GTG was in is wayy too big for under 100 people. We had JA''s christening there, we had about 60 people, and they gave us a private room in the back.
Even if we had the bigger room, we would have 'shared' it, which I didnt think was the greateast idea, and even if by chance it was free and they would have given it to us since it wasnt booked, 60 people would have been 'lost' in there...

Depending on how you arrange the back room, for 40 people, there should be room to dance. The food was deliciously outrageous and we got a great deal! We had a sitdown dinner. Buffet was also an option.

FM me if you want more details or have questions!
