Need to cheer up my mom.

Need to cheer up my mom.

Not only did I have a bad day yesterday but my mom did as well. My grandmother is being very difficult. My grandmother is giving my mom a really hard time and my mom is so good, she didn't say a thing even though my grandma is being very unreasonable about anything and everything.
I was thinking of buying her flowers and putting it in the house so she would be surprised when she got home from work. Any other ideas?

Flowers are a good idea, or why don't you take her out for dinner? Get her away from all of it for a while...

I agree....Flowers are a start.....but a nice relaxing dinner would also be great. I know a great place too....If you like Italian. It is called Ariana's and it is on Merrick avenue in Merrick.....Across from the elementry School.....Its a nice relaxing place with excellent food

Sue - that is such a sweet idea. I bet she would love it and it would help to cheer her up

My mom is now telling me that she feels bad that she even had these angry feelings yesterday because my grandma is sick and has every right to be difficult. My grandma has been difficult even before she was sick. I hate that she does this to my mom. Its not right!

My family is in the same boat...grandma can be quite difficult but we deal cuz she is alone....take mom out for some girl time...a manicure and pedicure, a dinner, what about a Vermont Teddy Bear? They are so cute and it will be a constant reminder to make her smile!

Hugs to both you and your Mom...

I know how difficult people can get when they get old...it's not fun to have to deal with. How about taking her out to lunch...maybe a manicure/pedicure. Or perhaps a massage? Sounds like she needs some R&R!

Thanks! My mom definately needs lots of hugs.
I just don't understand how anyone can be so inconsiderate, hurtful and mean to someone they love.

I am sorry that your mom is going through this! It can be tough when the roles of parent and child become reversed. Take your mom out and spend a nice relaxing evening together. Go to dinner, get a massage, see a movie, something you would both enjoy.!

and remember...........soon you will all have that beautiful bundle of joy growing inside you to make you forget all your troubles! Babies have a way of making everything all right again!

I agree with everyone else - surprise her with flowers and then say you're taking her to dinner or for a mani/pedi, etc.
