I live in Deer Park. So anything close to deer park would be great.
I want to get them waxed, and just moved to the area. I am so scared to do this, it will only be my third time in my whole life. My sister's wedding is this weekend, so I need a reputable place that isn't going to screw up my face!

Nadine at Allure on Deer Park Ave. in Deer Park is amazing. I have been going to her forever. You have try and get an appointment but she's usually booked for weeks in advance even for an eyebrow appt. Her number is 631-586-2745.

Although it's not close to Deer Park, the Sephora in Times Square just opened up a section for eyebrow shaping that I am going to check out soon. One of the women there gave me a brief consultation and explained how they do it. She also explained the kit that they have so that you can continue keeping your brows in shape. I remember thinking it was reasonably priced too.

I don't really know of any places but I wanted to say that I just got my eyebrows threaded, not waxed, for the first time and liked it sooo much better. It doesn't hurt as much and my skin doesn't get irritated. I would definitley recommend a place that does threading.

Not sure if you're near and Elizabeth Arden salon but if it's your first time getting your eyebrows done I recommend going to a real professional. It costs more but it's worth it. THen once you have the shape you can go to the regular nail salon for touch-ups

treilly13: I second that! I've had my brows waxed, tweezed and threaded .. threading is BY FAR the best .. least painful, least irritation and the most precise, even brows I have ever had!
Unfortunately the only place I know of is in the city....

Thanks so much! I just made an appointment! I couldn't get in with Nadine, but I got Jennifer on tuesday evening! Supposedly Nadine has been training her.

Threading is the best thing ever. It is an Indian Technique where they run a thread over you eyebrow to remove the hair Pros are; - It is not as painful - They get a really really precise shape and never have to pluck extra hairs - it is cheap - I have heard that waxing pulls at the skin and leads to saggy eyebrows.. threading doesn't pull so it helps with that.. i don't know if it is really true.
LOVE threading.. I will never pluck or wax agian. There are tons of salons on 107 in Hicksville. I go to Femina it is on the left hand side if you are traveling north just past the hess station.

adding more to the previous post... it only costs 4 dollars.. they talk walk ins.. I have covereted every female in my family to threading.

$4 that is awesome. I don't pay much more than that in the city $7, but it's good to know that there is a place on LI that is cheap too. I know where you are talking about on 107. Great, now I now where to go the week before my wedding...thanks

Diva's Nails in Douglaston on Douglaston pkwy, right off Northern Blvd. Nana does a great job. She is a little rough, but amazing! Highly recommended.

I love you guys can i just say that! I was looking for this too...
I'm heading out to 107 ASAP..to get mine done for the wedding - Threaded.
I did waxing once, and it was ok..but the woman did a little too much on one side and I had to draw in the right end for a week! I just want to get a nice shape once and for all!
I'm so there!
Ok..question: How long does the threading last? I have 9 days left...when should I get it done? Sooner or later?

My threading lasts a good two weeks, but looks fresh, clean and perfect about 3 days. Bear in mind that I have every dark eyebrows and they grow QUICKLEY! I would say if you go 3 or 4 days before, you'll be in good shape.
Don't be fooled though, it's not painLESS .. Just less painful than waxing IMHO. It did smart a little the first time I had it done.

I just started using Nadine at Allure also, she is very good but it's so hard to get an appt. with her. I had an appt. with Jennifer this week because it's easier to get an appt. with her, and they came out fine also.
