Need to go to L&D

Need to go to L&D

Oh boy! I called my MW to let her know that I was having lower back pain (similar to an achy period back pain) but without any cramps or pressure. I had it last week too, but didn't call her and when I saw her on Saturday she said to call her if it happens again. So I just did and she said that she'd like me to go to the hospital to L&D tomorrow morning so that they can put me on a monitor. What did I get myself into? I'm not sure if it's necessary, I'm not in major pain or anything and I feel the baby move all the time, and my Level II sonogram was fine 6 weeks ago. DH is going to worry, I know it's better to be safe, oh I don't know....

Nina, dont feel bad for going. ITs better to be on the safe side.

Don't worry -- or get stressed. Try to relax and know you MW is taking every precaution.

I'm sure it will be fine. We'll be thinking of you.

P.S. My friend went through something similar a few weeks ago and they hooked her up to monitor and everything turned out just fine.

Good Luck!!!! I'm sure all is fine let us know how you are...
I went 1 week before I had the baby b/c I didnt remember him moving all day and they hooked me up and all was fine but for anything they will have you go, liek someone said, just to be safe.

nowadays, they will make you go to get checked out with the slightest change. Everyone has to watch their backs. I'm sure everything will be fine. Its better to be safe then sorry. I will be thinking of you, in the mean time take advantage of all the extra attention your hubby will be giving you!!!

Just went to LandD today.............they hooked me up to the monitor for a nonstress test............everything was fine but I was a nervous wreck.................they just wanna be careful..............

had two non stress tests done....

when I was one week oerdue- one every 2 days after that. Better safe than sorry.

I am sure she would not want you to go for the test if she didn't want to be on the safe side. And it is non-invasive so don't worry that much about it. Think of it as a day-off

It was nothing just as I thought. I got to the hospital, after checking the baby's heartbeat, they put me on a fetal monitor for 20 minutes to see if I was having contractions, and I'm not, everything is fine. Whew!
