Need to Know the Biggest Bridal Gown Stores On Long Island!

Hiya everyone! I am coming in tomorrow until Sunday, and am hoping to take my mom with me to two or three bridal gown stores. I've looked a bunch in Massachusetts, but can not imagine buying without my mom there! So... I need recommendations. She hates traveling, so there is no way I'll get her into Manhattan. She lives in Syosset so Nassau is best, but Western Suffolk will work too! I was thinking about Flowerama in Manhasset, Bridal Couture in Manhasset, and Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. Any warnings about these? I am hoping for stores with very good customer service so its a pleasant experience, and large selections so I can show her a wide range of dresses without running to 10 stores. I'd like to find a dress for no more then $1500. Thanks for your help ladies, you are the best!!!

You could always try Davids Bridal. They have a large selection of dresses in so many sizes but beware....the customer service stinks there. Expect to pick your own dress out and try it on yourself. I went on a Saturday during a sale time and it was crazy. But I did get a beautiful dress and a great price on it too. Good Luck Lisa PS...one way that Davids is good is that you can actually try on dresses in your size...not just samples.

Bridal Reflections in Carle Place

I didn't get my dress there but they had a nice selection. The bridal reflections in massapequa had a big selection too, but the carle place one had some of the nicer dresses.

Alos try Bridal Suite of Bay Shore, Macys in Manhasset

They both had good selections and various price ranges. But if you want to do a general scouting trip get on the train and head to RK Bridal. They have so much to choose from, very good prices, but they are definately a no frills place. Basicly self service. I didnt order from them but found it helpful to go in and just try on tons of gowns to get my basic style line figured out. www.rkbridal.com Happy Shopping

Macys in Manhasset (Flowerama)

I got mine at Macys in Manhasset. They are fantastic. I am going for my final fitting today. Everything has been wonderful service wise and I found it to be a great place shopping for a dress because you actually get to look through all of their dresses on the rack. Bridal Reflections I found to be annoying. They have to get the dresses for you, so you don't see everything you have to choose from. And the sales people there are relentless. I got a phone call and 3 follow up letters on a dress I wasn't even seriously considering.

Valenia - BR in Massapequa

I got my gown at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa - that store's gowns start lower. My gown cost $1200, but with alterations, and a special request to cut the train and a couple of other minor things, plus my headpiece (which you don't have to buy there) the total cost was about $2000. See my review on the vendor review area re: Bridal Reflections. Things for me went fine and the service was great, but their rude and disgusting and nasty treatment of my bridesmaids makes me dread recommending them - even though my gown was gorgeous. Maybe brides have better luck.

Price Range...

I expected to pay about 3,000 for a dress. Right off the bat, all of the ones I liked were under 1,500. I ended up getting one for about half that. Start with a low price range and work up rather than down.

I would stay away from Bridal Couture in Manhasset (m)

I`ve heard so many stories about that place, and they are really pricey. My friend got her dress there ($5K), and although she didn`t have any problems, she told me that every time she was there for a fitting, etc., another bride, or a MOB ran into the store crying or yelling! Plus, I checked on the better business bureau`s website and they`ve received 5+ complaints in the past year.
