Okay so I tell fh that next weekend we need to go to the tux place to find what we like and to order. He says that I do not need to go and that he didn't go with me to pick out my gown so why can't he go by himself with his boys to pick out the tuxes.
Now, I could care less about what FH is going to pick, he has good taste and I wouldn't mind being suprised but I worry about the gm's tuxes. Like don't I need to see if they have a color vest that matches my bm dresses, and if not don't I have to decide what color to do?
I am just confused as to wether or not I need to be there or can the guys do this by themselves?
**************************************************** Update So I just told fh that I asked my LIWeddings girls and they all went with their fh's to pick out tuxes. He started laughing and said 'I was just giving you grief hunny, of course you can come.' Doesn't he know not to joke about anything that has to do with this wedding, I just do not have a sense of humor about it. So I will be going with him on Saturday thank goodness

When FH was in NY, we went with my parents to the tux shop. FH got to pick, but I picked out groomsmen ties and my dad got measured for his tux. My parents negotiated with the guy, who my dad has used many times before.

Jessica, Debi was rebuffed a bit by the Tux Guy, for putting her two cents in. I say, if FH doesn't mind, you should go, especially if there's a need to coordinate colors. I know Debi wanted certain colors. Let's face it, some guys can use a bit of help in this area; Perhaps others don't. Mary MOB

It would be nice if you could see if only for the colors to make sure they match the bm dresses. Guys won't be as worried about the colors....they'll think it looks close enough but we want them to match perfectly. I say you need to see the colors. They can go for the initial decision for the style of tuxes but I think you should see the vest/tie combo colors. Good luck!

Fh and i went together just us two. I didn't go to pick anything out though and left all that up to him. I did give my opinion because it was asked but i liked the choices so i was ok with it. I already knew the ties bc we bought all of them beforehand for FH and all the gm, and the ties match my bm's so i didnt need to go to color coordinate the bm dresses.
If your FH gets black vests for the guys then dont even worry. If he picks color then show him your color dresses before he goes and tell him to remember to match them.

yes the gm wear ties. Well its up to you, the tux shop has ties so you dont need to bc the ties are included in the price for the tux. We did this because the ties FH wanted they dont have at a tux shop so we HAD to buy it ourselves and we'll give that to the guys as part of their gifts.

You rent the ties and vests with the tux, so that would be chosen at the same time as the tux.
I went with FH but he didn't argue. He said he didn't know what would look good if he went alone. Our gm's are getting vests to match our girls dresses. He would not have done well with that solo.

the tux place told us that WE come in first to check out colors and all after i get BM dress swatches so thats what we did.
FH definitely had a say in the colors (i wanted pool like the BM were wearing but we both agreed it was too fruity and not what either of us wanted the GM to wear)
Tell your FH that you will be there to help picj the GM vests, but his tux is up to him.
Anyway, the grooms tux is not the same as the brides dress. Men wear tuxes all the time, a bride only wears a wedding dress once.

I went with FH. At first he said no but I won the battle. We picked out something togther for the guys and then he went with the guys and pretended that I hadnt gone with him and he picked out everything by himself!

Only because I'm a control freak and have to approve everything associated with the wedding! FH and the guys all already have their own tuxes, but I went with him to pick out the vest and tie

We haven't gone yet, but I am going with him. I'm pretty concerned since my dress is ivory, I don't want him getting white. He can pick out what he likes, I just want to make sure the colors aren't going to clash.

i went with him, but didn't really have to. we are not getting vests for him or the gm and we also have to buy seperate ties, so that makes it easier.

I would like to go with FH first to kinda see what we like and when he goes with his GM, I may, but I will not feel like I have to b/c at least then I will know what he is coming home with...
