Need to lose 15-20 lbs in 6 months..Help!!!!

Hey ladies! I need to be able to fit into a dress size 12. I have 6 months till my sept. wedding. Got any tips or plans that personally worked for yourself? Any safe advice that you've tried and had good results?

exercise / weight watchers.

If you stick to it and work out a few times a week, you will be fine.

Ditto. When I did WW 5 years ago I lost 30 lbs in 3 months and have kept it off.

My advice is just to eat right and excercise your *** off!! Keep going to the gym and do lots of cardio. I usually put a Maxim magazine or a Fitness magazine on the treadmill and i keep looking at it and running. sounds dumb but its a good motivator. GOOD LUCK!

my wedding is 7/12. i started jan 29 with a trainer/nutritionist thinking it was hopeless at this point.

since the 29th, i have lost approx. 14 pounds and have learned how to live a healthy lifestyle.

i have been training 3x a week, doing cardio 5-6 days a week, and am pretty much following a bodybuilding diet.

i went to go pick up my dress, and body changed so much, that the areas where i needed the biggest size could fit my dog PLUS me too! It was a great feeling :)

while it cost us a good chunk of change (we are doing it together) it has been a great experience and will be the best investment we made throughout the whole process.

My wedding is also in September. What I've been really focusing on is my arms and back since that is what will be the only real part of my body you can see.
The hardest part is that results dont really come fast. I'm spending at least 4, pref 5 days a week at the gym for at least an hour. I do a lot of cardio, and also take a class called CrossFit which is insanely intense and makes me want to puke everytime. However, I think cardo and then doing some light weight training with the arms makes a big difference.
I think one of the most important things you can do is really pay attention to what you eat and drink. If you can replace soda/juice for water it'll knock off more calories than you'd expect. I know water gets boring, but crystal light has those great little things you throw in the water and they are maybe 10 calories.
Also, once it gets nice out.. walk! Get outside and even if it's only for 1/2 hour take a fast walk around. As much as it ***** to get the initial motivation, you do really feel great when you're done.
I know it's not easy! Good luck!
(It also helps if you drag a friend along with you)

That's not even a pound a week. Just cut out a can of soda and a cookie per day and you'll make it.

Really, that's not an impossible goal AT ALL. You can lose that much weight with minimal changes to your diet, as long as you keep active. If you cut your calories and go for, say, 1500-1800 calories a day and go to the gym 3 times a week (do half an hour cardio and half an hour weights/abs), you'll lose that plus more.

Seriously, that's a very 'do-able' goal. Just pass up seconds at the dinner table, eat fruits and veggies instead of junk food when you're snacking (or have a cup of hot green tea, that works for me!), and hit the gym a few times a week and you'll be there in no time.

You go on the treadmill with a Maxim magazine? That's AMAZING. I've put pics on my fridge for inspiration, but I can totally see how staring at those skinny biotches would make you want to stay on the treadmill for a few minutes more each time when it gets tough. I have to try that!

That's what I'll be doing when FH and I move in. I'll have half naked women all over our kitchen. He'll be happy!

I started eating low calorie foods (still eating to my hearts content, but being smart about what I choose to eat) and running on the elliptical for an hour a day back in November and I've already lost 15lbs...

Good low calorie choices that are yummy are the lean cuisine dinners, Amy's burritos, smart one's dinners, and there's a TON of 100 calorie snack packs on the market now... you can satisfy any snack craving with them. plus rice crispie treats are only like 90 calories.

HTH!

btw, i don't do the elliptical every day now, mabye about 3 times a week, and I'm maintaining the weight, so it does get easier lol

FH and I started the South Beach diet 2 weeks ago and we've both lost weight already. We weren't heavy to begin with (just wanted to lose a few and tone up) but he has lost 6 lbs and I've lost 8!! In 2 weeks.

I lost 40 lbs and have kept it off with lots of water and a regimented portion control diet.
I went to BBB bought a food scale, measuring cups, and a travel water jug to make sure I drank my 8 glasses of water.
The first few weeks were tough, but I survived and feel sooo much better.
I weighed all my meats to about 4 oz. and alternated with steam veggies and very small portioned carbs for either breakfast or dinner.
I also drank 3 cups of coffee a day with non fat milk to keep my sanity!
