I am so confused on what to do. We have found a house that we want to buy that is to good of a deal to pass up. We have to come up with a big down payment to get into a good rate program and we might not be able to afford the wedding now. I was thinking of just eloping when we go on out honeymoon. It would be a lot easier. The problem though I all ready paid $8,000 to the hall. I feel that getting the house is a lot more important for our future then having the big wedding but I am still upset about it. I have so much stress with this and school and work that I haven't slept in days and going out of my mind. Sorry so long I just needed to vent.

Re: Need to vent
Wow that is a difficult decision I can see why you are losing sleep is there any way that you can cut down the size of the list were you could have a simple wedding with the amount you have already paid to the hall??? Have you guys talked to your parents about it?

Re: Need to vent
Because your hall is in Suffolk County, you can get back all of your deposits less $100 as long as you send them notice no later than March 16th.
It's a Suffolk County law, and you have to let them know 6 months in advance, otherwise they get to keep everything. I'll see if I can find the post about this for you on BHB.

No we haven't really spoke to anyone about it yet. We age going to crunch some more #'s and see what we come up with. We all ready cut it down and we can't go any lower cause then we will loose a certain room at the watermill.
The owner wanted 389,000 for the house and we talked him down to 345,000. It's a 3 bedroom colonial on 1 acre in Ridge. It's a beautiful, quiet neighborhood.
