Ok i'll make this short. I tried researching pricing about videography so I can add this to our wedding. My FH says since we put our money in the photos I can't have this and he is being very firm on it and it caused a very heated blowout last night. I know there are some reasonable priced vendors on here and I tried considering the budget but it looks like I'm not going to have my wedding videotaped. Im seriously upset at him the way he approached this whole manner how I made a 'DEAL' with him and we are not breaking it for nothing. I seriously dont get it. anyway thanks for listening..

Aww...I'm sorry. Is there a way that you can shave off some money from other areas of the wedding in order to make up for the videographer? Maybe take some photos out of your album or have less involved centerpieces? Spend less on BP gifts, etc?
Maybe if he sees you saving in other areas (versus what you originally planned) he'll come around. Also explain to him that aside from the photos, this is the only thing that you will have to remember the day and it's become a priority to you.
I'm sorry!
ETA: My friend's videographer did not show up at her wedding, but her cousin videotaped the whole thing. Do you have a friend/family member who can do the same so at least you have something if he doesn't come around?

see if someone has a videocamera and will tape it for you...for free/cost of tapes. you can always take it somewhere and get it edited later....we have a friend who works for a company that does things like that (i think)...i know they transfer VHS to DVD for people...i would think they could edit as well.

I would just try to cut prices short in some other areas if possible. But IMO even if it's just a family memeber who could vidoe tape some footage would be something to treasure

Since you have time, can you cut from other parts of your budget? Also, could you just get the raw footage of your day? That costs much, much less than a fully edited video. You might want to look on Craig's list for someone who's just starting out and will give you a great price. Beyond that - if he doesn't budge, definitely talk to a friend or family member about at least recording the ceremony, the first dance, parent dances and cake cutting, just so you have something to look back on.
Good luck

That is what we did. My BIL taped the ceremony and the reception for us. It was good for him because he did not know too many people at the wedding and it gave him something to occupy his time. The video came out great !!!!

Re: need to vent...
thank you very much. i think my only option would be to ask a friend/family member to tape it for us. but of course i have to do the work being he has his pride and wont budge on it.
