Need to Vent......

So to start off when I started looking for halls I only had two places in mind....JT & Russo's. Unfortunately Russo's was WAY out of my budget, so I went with JT....I love the outside, inside, and people who work there.... We booked the penthouse room, sort of blind, and then changed it to the Dome room....When I took my mom & dad to see the room they were not very happy with it....My mom is still bugging me that there is not enough room between the DJ and the dance floor, and the entrance. I have not gone to talk to the DJ yet, on 8/24, but when I originally called they asked me if I had the Dome room. So just from that comment I am guessing they have done parties there before and know how to set up.

But my problem is that all I think about is that no one is going to be happy with the room. FH and i love the room, but I have concerns about the spacing..... Anyone else feel this way.. or am I just going crazy?

Don't worry - - -I have friends who have just gotten married and gave me lots of advice. No matter what you do, there will always be someone that has something negative to say about your wedding day. Go with what you feel is right for the both of you. Remember, it's your day, no one else's. Good luck and relax (have fun with the planning)

As a fellow JT bride - i fell in love with the place the second I walked in! My mother complained for the first month or so that it was too far - but when i took her to see it she fell in love too!

you will never make everyone happy so just try to make sure that you and FH are happy!

by the way did you check out the skylight room? thats my room. . . i know, i know, i am biased but i loved it from the moment i walked in - maybe you can check it out. . .

I started to freak out about a month after I booked my hall because the dance floor is at the front of the room and not in the middle and I heard people starting to complain about that. But FH and I went back to see it and when I walked into the room again I realized it didn't matter because we just loved it! You have to do what will make you two happy!

Thank you all soooo much for the advice....It's just that I wish my parents would at least support my decisions, but whatever. I want to be able to have fun with the planning.....

If you and your FH love it then stick with it. Don't let anyone else tell you what to do. It's your day!

i agree...why settle for another room if obviously that is the one you like. i was asking myself the same questions...

I even have a place that everyone loves but I heard some noise about the price per head. I felt like I had to convince them I am gettin my moneys worth...(not my parents, my grandma...etc.) Like they said above me...someone is always going to have something to say.

I have been in the dome room for a wedding and it was beautiful! if you love it...your parents will learn to love it.
