Need to VENT!!

So last week I went out with the women I used to work with which includes my Aunt. I told everyone that I set a date for the wedding. My mother has not told anyone in our family yet - so I can get a chance to tell them myself, in person.

So the next day my Aunt goes to see my Uncle and cousins. My cousin emailed me to tell me that my Aunt told everyone about all of my wedding plans!!! Didn't she think that maybe I wanted to do that myself?!?!? I found out because my cousin emailed me congratulating me on setting a date and letting me know that my Aunt told everyone......

So I wrote my cousin back and hinted that I was annoyed that my Aunt didn't let me get a chance to tell everyone - and then she told me that my Aunt was complaining to everyone about how I am getting married in Long Island (40 mins away) and she went on to name shitholes in Staten Island that I should've chosen to get married at because they are closer! Does she think that the world revolves around her?!?!?!? I wish you girls knew the type of person she is because if you did you would totally understand why I am so annoyed. I know a 40 min ride can be inconveinent but I am her Goddaughter, its my wedding and its ONE night of her life!!!! I am even blocking hotel rooms and having a shuttle - but she was even complaining about that - because its too expensive and now she'll have to drive all the way back home......

So not only did she rob me of telling my favorite Uncle and cousins - but whats even worse is that the only reason she told them was so she could complain about it!!!

That really su cks. I would be pissed too. Did you tell her not to tell anyone??

Now that I think of it, majority of the people in my family had some complaint about something. I think they were happy for me for about a minute before the complaints started rolling in. Its far, their kids cant bring their dates, the hotel is to expensive...

people who act like that are just miserable with their own lives so by putting others down they feel better about themselves...You can't let her get to you and bring you down, it is her issues and her miserable life.

40 mins is not bad at all, she just have to bring attention to herself

I'm so sorry to hear about this! That's terrible. Don't worry about her complaints, though - not that you were - 40 mins is not far at all! I think I have travelled at least that far for almost every wedding I have been to.

My mom was giving me a hard time before I booked my RH -- we were considering doing it on a Friday night, and my RH only has weddings in my room on Fri nights from 9:30 - 1:30. They have other events in the room before that and cannot move it up. My mom complained that it was too late, and none of my aunts would stay, etc ... when I asked my aunt (my godmother) she said, of course I would stay, it's just one night and it;s your wedding! Which is exactly what I kept saying to my mom. Then, when we booked on a Sat. afternoon becuz price and overall was better, she complained that afternoon weddings aren't as fun and she hates going home after them because it's like 'now what?'

ARGHHHHHH you can't please everyone and you just have to know that you did the best thing for you.

thats what i thought until i found out that she was talking about just so she could complain about how far it was!! her and her husband are two peas in a pod - they are super selfish!! they rather me get married in an ugly stupid place that i hate so they only have to drive down the block!!

i also have a feeling that she is jealous that we can afford a wedding in the first place - she keeps making rude comments about how i won't get any good gifts because she didnt and im not going to make any money off the wedding......its like she thinks we're counting on making tons of money when the truth is i don't think we'll make a 1/4 of what we spend......we are having a beautiful wedding because we WANT to not to make $$$ - i think she is bitter about her wedding and marriage
