need to vent

This totally ****s! My whole life I've been told I have to go to EVERY family event, for 2nd, 3rd, 4th cousins who don't even care who I am because 'one day they will be the ones coming to your wedding, etc..' Well, I've done that, gone to everything, given good gifts even when I didn't have the money and now that its my turn.......NOBODY is coming! Not only are they not coming, but they can't even send in the response card to say they're not coming. Two of them who did respond 'Yes' just called to say they changed their minds, and one of the checks I got ($50 from somebody who I just gave $150 to last year for their son's wedding) Bounced!!! I'm so ****ed that I've wasted all of my time and money on people who don't give a crap about me or my immediate family Thanks, just needed to vent!

Sorry to hear that..Family members can be like that

Oh my...I am so sorry to hear that....That does s*ck... Who would send a check that bounces?? I guess it could be a mistake...but when you send a check as a gift you make sure it isnt going to bounce!!
But focus on the people that matter to you...If they dont want to be at your wedding then they wouldnt be adding anything more precious to your special day...
Sorry you have to deal with this..

I know, I will be happy that the people that mean the most to me will be there, but I was told that I had to choose a hall that would be big enough to hold all of these people and I have a 100 person min. that I won't even be close to and I still have to pay for it.

I'm so sorry for your family's shortcomings , I know we've all dealt with things like this. Just remember that they won't be there to ruin your wonderful day - all the better for you. We get to pick our friends, not our family, and I'm sure your friends will be loyal and helpful all through your wedding. Be grateful for your friends and forget those family members.
