need to vent...

ill start off by saying I know this will make me come across as a selfish b***h but why why why do people feel the need to get gifts that we didnt register for???

last week we got a hideous silver bowl with serving spoons that i tracked down and saw it costs $57!!! Today we got personalized glass & pitcher (which would actually be a somewhat nice gift it we didnt already have lenox personalized glasses) that costs $54.95!!!!!!!!

here is the reason i sound selfish...i reallyyyy hope these people bring a gift to the wedding...one is a family of 4 and the other is a couple. a $55 for a family of 4 - are you kidding me?!?!

We were lucky.....so far only two things off registry, that were just extra little pieces that came with checks. Two little picture frames.

I did have one nice off registry gift from someone that couldn't attend.....but I just returned it for a Crate and Barrel gift card

I don't understand why people go out of their way to get you something that you don't want or need, you know? If they were going out shopping anyway, why can't they stick to the registry?

but your complaints are perfectly fair. It's not ok for a family of 4 to give you a $55 gift. (unless they are super close family members who are in a tough financial situation that you're aware of.. or i guess if they rsvp'd no, and sent the gift just to be nice.)
