I am so upset. I have bent over backwards for my sister who is on the larger size. Her and I do not have a great relationship. She says she never gets any of my text messages, missed calls, or even fb messages. She refused to go BM dress shopping with my friends and I totally understood it. I asked her if she wanted to go before I went with everyone so she could pick a style she would be comfortable in. I really wanted everyone in the same dress.
Well, when we finally went shopping she did not come. I had the 4 other girls there. Two Maids of Honor and two bridesmaids (not including my older sister) went shopping. My MOH's decided they wanted to be in one dress and have the bridesmaids in another.... Fine... I agreed... now my sister, who is just a BM does not like the dress we chose. I gave her many opportunities to go before I went with everyone else. Now, she went today, everyone else went in May. She decided she could pick a dress that is different from everyone. I HATE IT. I am so mad! My mother is backing her up too. And I can't say anything because then I get the... well she is your older sister, she is jealous, she doesn't have anyone. I am so sick of the excuses that they make for her. She is 33 years old, grow up, act like an adult.
So now I am stuck with 2 BM in one dress, 2 MOH in another dress, and my sister in another one.... I think it will look stupid and I am beyond pissed.
Sorry for the long winded post... Thanks for listening!

Ugggh! Frustrating! Part of being a BM is wearing the dress that the bride picks for you! You've been super accommodating for her, so there is really no excuse. If you don't want her to wear the dress she picked, I wouldn't let her order it! ..Or have one MOH and one BM find different dresses so no one matches, but it sounds like they're already ordered.

They are... I told my friends they could pick different dressed if they want... but I think they don't want to be bothered with going back in to try on different dresses. :/ just frustrated. I know it isn't the end of the world, but there is always a reason with her. She just booked a trip with her friend the weekend I was planning my bachelorette. She knew we were doing the bachelorette that weekend cause i am a teacher and there are not too many other opportunities to go,

You have every right to be upset. It seems to me your sister is jealous and is making it obvious with her behavior. The fact that she is being extremely difficult with regards of meeting with the other ladies to go dress shopping and now going away knowing that weekend is going to be your bachelorette party is just plain nasty and deliberate. However if you think about it, I think that was the nicest gift she could have given you at least now you know you ALL will have a good time. She is being extremely selfish and acting very immature. I understand not having her as a BM is not an option, however she is going to do what she wants and what she is doing is deliberate. Easier said than done, but try not to give in to her. You ask her once if she is available to meet with your other girls and if she can't make it so be it. This is YOUR day and she is making it about her. At the end of the day she is going to be the one who is going to look like an a$$ and I am really sorry saying that. I just don't understand how selfish and inconsiderate people can be. I would put her on the end of all pictures and crop her out. I'm pissed for you!!!!!

I only have a MOH ( partially for reasons like this) but I think if it bothers you that much ( which I think is completely understandable) you should sit down with her and explain hownyou have her the opportunity to pick a dress and then have everyone else work with it, and if she wants to be in the bridal party she has to go with the flow. Is her dress the same color as the others? If so I would say maybe have one of the other BMs get a different dress in the same color so at least it looks intentional and not just her? Hope it works out for you one way or another.

I am so sorry. I know it must be frustrating. I would sit down with her and talk to her calmly about it and maybe even give her the option of not being a bridesmaid. Explain to her that you want her there bc she is your sister but if she does no feel comfortable being w your friends and going along with what YOU want (since it is your wedding) that you understand.

Thank you all... The venting helped. There is no talking reasonably with my sister. She will never sit down with me and that is just how she is. It will never change. I made sure the dress was the same designer, fabric, and color. Not going to stress it she is the one making herself look like a moron. Thanks again! XOXOX

Re: Need to Vent...
I'm in the minority but I don't love bridesmaids dresses matchy matchy. The different dresses may actually look really nice! I'm not having bridesmaids at all, this is one of the reasons why!
