Need to vent about flowers

Ok so my wedding is exactly 6 days after vday. Every florist I go to is telling me I have to pay extra for roses ( thank goodness I didnt have my heart set on all roses.. just some) I confronted one of the florists about how you would think after vday roses would be cheaper.. he said no we order it before?? I said how early do you order it??? I dont want old flowers.. he said 2 weeks. Now I had them make me a sample cp ... it took less then a week to 'order' the flowers and make it!!!
They are bs*ing me right????

That is strange because my florist said that an all rose Cp is cheaper than a mix of flowers?

shut up!!! they told me I am better off with mixed since roses will be more expensive!!!!!
(Maybe its b/c I wanted them really full and it would take alot of roses vs mixed flowers and filler)

Hm, sounds fishy to me too!
Maybe they place the order 2 weeks before, I can't image they receive the flowers 2 weeks before. No flowers will last that long!
Maybe they are more expensive because they are so popular that time of year, and are harder to get?
Does sound weird though......

My florist told me the exact opposite. I was told all roses are more money What's going on here?

I have casa lilies, vendella roses,irish somethings (i forget ), white snaps, calla lilies and some others.

could it be the size of a all rose araingement?
I know if i make my CP's bigger price goes up...but when i looked at a all rose, it was the 'standard' (if there is such a thing) CP

ohhh its b/c you have lillies.. if you have alot of those it is really

my quote was for roses, tulips, snaps and 3 or 4 other kinds of flowers i cant remember

depends - high or low?
calla lillies are VERY $$. Thats one of the most expensive...
if you want a save a little on the cps, unless you have your heart set on them I would cut them out or tell your florist to cut back on the amount he uses.. I think there like $5.00 each!!

nah the callas are important and i am ok with how much we are spending on flowers. I just kinda wish i knew before, my bad.

do u mind me asking what you are getting and how much its costing?

eta - flowers have been the hardist thing for me so far.. with everything else I knew exactly what I wanted. but with flowers there are so many different nice things.. and everything is so much $$$

My wedding was ON Valentines Day and Burtons didnt charge us extra. We had ALL red roses. They them. They give you 1 price for everything and you can choose any flower you want.
