Need to vent about looking for a teaching job....

I am always looking on every school districts website for jobs and I also look at the faculty to see if anyone I know works there...

Well a few weeks ago I saw that a girl that I went to school with has a full time job in a nice North Shore district...I was happy for her...BUT JEALOUS!

Then tonight..I was looking at another district on the N Shore and I see that this woman that I hated in school has her own class....it makes me really depressed to see that I am a teaching assistant and these people are teaching

Your time will come.. I know how frustrating it is. I should've been finished with my masters and actually be teaching by now... but I'm just finishing up and feeling like there will be no jobs left for me when I finally get out!

I know it doesn't mean much, but keep your chin up and you are bound to find your own special home soon enough.

I think you should be happy that you at least have that. My FI doesn't even work everyday... he barely has a subbing job!

ETA: I didn't mean to sound like such a b--ch! Sorry! I just think sometimes things happen for a reason and you have to be happy with the TA job! That might be leading to something even better that either of those other 2 ladies have!

I mean if I knew this was a means to an end..I would NOT be complaing but it does s u c k!!! I do have health benefits which is good BUT the pay is so pitiful

I know the pay stinks... it is the same job my mom has after graduating almost 2 years ago... I guess you just have to hang in there!!

On the south shore...someone helped me to get the job...and I am very greatful...but I have taught before IN NYC and to go from teacher to TA really blows! But I couldn't find anything over the summer

My Mom is a TA in West Babylon...
Yeah, I can see where that stinks. I have a masters in school counseling and I can't find a guidance job either! I could be making like $20,000 more if I had a job in my field... that would be a nice chunk to put towards the wedding and the HM!!!!
