so my friend is getting married next month on a Thursday in new jersey. her rehearsal dinner is at 3pm on wednesday! don't you think that it shouldn't be so early considering ppl are already taking off on thursday?? i'm not gonna be able to make it to the rehearsal. like does she not care?!?!
and her MOH called me and said i have to pay for her admission to the club ($30) for her bachelorette party AND pay for her drinks. i'm not the only bridesmaid why do i have to pay for all of it?? and plus, it's a whole weekend event!!! fri is mani's and pedi's and dinner. saturday we're going to a spa and then to a male review. and sunday is brunch. like this is gonna cost sooo much!!!
on top of all this, i go to pick up my BM dress on saturday in queens (i live in dix hills, mind you) where she wanted me to get my dress altered and it wasn't done!!! i brought it to her on the 17th of june!! i don't even wanna go back and get the dress if it's ready!!
her whole wedding is pissing me off!!
please make me feel better or am i just being a b!tch??

Re: need to vent!!! - HELP ME OUT HERE!
ugh, why do weddings have to cause so much stress?! did you call before you went to pick up the dress? if so, and they said it was ready for you to pick up and then it wasn't, then i would definitely have some beef with the manager. if not, i would definitely give a call before making that trek in again (i know how much it *****, i work in queens and live in islip, grrr) as far as the rehearsal dinner... yeah, since it's mid week, it definitely would have been better for her to make it later than 3... maybe 6 or so, so people would be able to come right after work or just leave a little early. but, if you can't go, you can't go, and i would just tell her why. that it's midweek and you can't get another day off, unfortunately. i would hope she's a little understanding with people's work schedules if she is doing all of this midweek. and as far as the money for the bachelorette party... why don't you mention to the MOH that you should figure out what everything is going to cost (or estimate at least) and split it between the girls? i'm sorry you're so frustrated!! good luck!!

Maybe the reason you are being asked to pay for her admission and drinks is b/c each girl is picking up a different part of the tab for the bride? LIke, one girl is paying for the mani/pedi, another is paying for the spa, yet another is paying for brunch?????
If you can't get off from work two days, then you can't do it. Just explain it to the bride calmly. Don't get upset that it's at 3:00 - that may be the only time she could get the church (or whatever) for the rehearsal.

I think you have every right to be annoyed. This seems to me like yet another example of a bride being self-centered and not thinking about how things will affect the people around her.
It's unreasonable to schedule her rehearsal for such a difficult time, and it's VERY unreasonable (and rude, in my opinion) to flat out inform you that you have to pay for her. People need to learn that nobody HAS to pay for anything for you - they should volunteer to do so.
If I do a manicure night or anything like that with my girls, I have every intention of paying for myself, and if they offer to pay then I will be beyond grateful. But I definitely do not expect that from anybody.

I would be pissed, too. As a bride who is solely trying to make things as convenient as possible for all involved, I would be aggravated when it's obvious someone else isn't. I purposely made my RD the night before the wedding - in the hotel's restaurant - out of convenience for the OOT bridal party members. The LEAST your bride could do for you is make the rehearsal a bit later! What else could possibly be going on on a WEDNESDAY NIGHT that she couldn't have the rehearsal a bit later?
As for paying for each thing separately, something doesn't seem fair there. Drinks can ADD UP. What if the bride gets TRASHED?!?!? You might have to take a loan out!! I would say something about that. Just say that you all should add up the costs of the whole weekend and divide it equally, to be fair, because you have your own wedding to plan and you can't afford to spend so much right now. Tell her that you want to do this for your friend, but you just can't afford to spend more than what all the other girls are spending and the drinks can ADD up! That's like a bottomless pit!!
