NEED TO VENT - THIS MIGHT GET LONG LOL
AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sooo frustrated!
ok so where do I begin... we booked our wedding last year in the winter at The Coral House in a larger room...everything was great had that sweet all americana vintage feel I was going for..
then I lost my job so we decided to do a civil ceremony...it was a beautiful day but we didnt invite any of his family because they were pissed we didnt have a priest (note - im Jewish)
So we called Coral House to try and cancel and get our money back (we paid in 50% upfront) and they said no but they would downgrade us to a smaller room if we only have 50 people and then we wouldn't owe then anymore money.
They are good like that.
So we cut our list from 100 to 50 and were happy - found a priest and a rabbi to co-officiate an affirmation ceremony and everything was GOLD
THEN THE FMIL gets involved... tells us we have to invite her ENTIRE FRIGGIN family which is close to 35 people (note we can only have 50) and offers to pay for some of the distant cousins.
So I call CH to see if we can fit that many people and some guy named Frank tells me that we can fit 100 people carefully (my BM is Linda and she is AMAZING)
SOOO today I call Linda to tell her we are going to have closer to 85 people (i cut some off the list) and she basically says to do that some of the dance floor (which is already basically non-existant) will be covered with tables.
SO NOW- we have to try and convince the FMIL to pay for her family so we can upgrade back to our original room at the orignal price. Its only $3500 more to do this...but its just soooooo frustrating!
