Need to vent.....long

Need to vent.....long

Last night was one of those doozies! First it started off with us going to register. We went to Fortunoff and I thought he would at lleast get into it a little, but that was not the case. First I had to hear well I don't know why you are registering now when the e-party is 2 weeeks away, noone is going to buy presents now, they already bought you something if they were going to. Hello moron, you have been studying for 2 months and have had no time to go with me remember. Next, he started complaining about the items I was picking out. 'Your insane with the prices. My family is going to laugh in your face. Noone is going to pay that for those items. Pick cheaper stuff.' Why should I have to pick china and crystal I hate bc his family is too cheap!
After all the humming and hawing Ijust said to leave, so we didn't accomplish much.

Next I get home to find out that his aunt and uncle called to rescind their earlier yes to our party. Supposedly his aunt has to go away on business that Sunday. BULLSHIT!!!!! That is Thanksgiving weekend. Why can't his uncle come with the son? And to boot she is having Thanksgiving that Thurs. I guess she won't be to busy for that though? Now I am waiting for their son to call me with his wife and make an excuse. They both live in PA and always travel together. I was livid!
Let us not mention that her other 2 children - 1 in dallas and 1 in North carolina, didn't even have the decentcy to call and RSVP to my party. I guess Southerners don't know what RSVP stands for or means.

I am more pissed off at his stupid mother! Every ******** function his aunt throws in PA his mother demands we attend. I remember for his cousin's wife's shower I had to cancel my fourth of July plans because they sent us the invite 3 weeks before about the shower. Meanwhile my FI's brother and sister-in-law didn't even attend. And to boot his mother had the audacity to introduce me to all his relatives (which was teh first time I met them) as his FRIEND. Friend after 10 years of dating, I am a F***ing Friend!

To boot FI's stupid a** mother decided just o invite her immediate family to the e-party. I told her to invite teh other cousins and she said no bc they never had e-party's for their children so it made no sense to invite them to ours. Well now this e-party will have 15 guests from his family and 65 from mine. Does that make any sense?

I am sorry this is so long, but I have just about had it with everyone nad everything!

Sorry you hav to deal with this, but don't let his parents get in between you and your FH. I used to and it s*ucked. Once I stopped complaining, i really saw that their behavior annoyed him too, so I felt like we were in it together.

I'm a Southerner and I do know what RSVP stands for

It's always tough dealing with the in-laws. Just calm down and realize that this is about you and your FH and no one else. Don't let anyone ruin your time!!

As for the registering, my FH and I could not agree on anything either--the fight swe got into We finally decided that I would do the registering, adn he would stay out of it. He hated going to Fortunoff's and dealing with the crowds etc--I don;t mind doing it on my own--And we have not fought about it since!

What kills me the most is that since his parents are divorced, there is only 1 side invited to our wedding. I think it would have made sense to also invite the rest of the family to the e-party. His sister is getting married supposedly 2 weeks after mine and I don't know what the deal is with his mother? I don;t know if she is just being spiteful. The other day she said well I doubt Joy and Howie will make it in Sept for your wedding given they are in Italy every year at that time. Well hello why didn't you tell me that before I picked my date and don't you think it would have been nice to invite them to thee-party then? I jsut feel so bad for my FI bc it will be like there is no one there from his family.

Just be grateful for your wonderful family. You should call your mom tonight or bring her flowers.

On behalf of Southerners (Im a Texan) I apologize for their rudeness.

I feel really bad cause I know I wouldnt have RSVP'ed if the positions were reversed, unless I came to NY often. I'd figure RSVP meant send back a reply if you know you can make it so we can prepare for you. If you're not coming then politely decline. I would have at least called tho and said 'thanks for the invite, but I can't make it' I do that most of the year since my family *IS* in Texas, so Im constantly saying 'due to distance I can not attend, my best wishes to you' It's my standard reply.

Hang in there..

That is the whole point they didn't even have the coutesy to call and say I am sorry I am not attending. The two of them could have even told their mother to respond for them if they were too cheap to make a phone call.
