Re: Need vacuum recomendations
I can tell you which ones NOT to get--never buy the 'Shark' from Linens n Things. I bought one, the motor broke the first time I used it, so I returned it. The second one burned out the second time I used it. Worst $100 I ever spent. I also got the Roomba as a gift--it works okay, but you really need to follow up with a 'real' vaccuum, especially to pick up pet hair. It's not awful, but not worth the money IMO.

They're kind of expensive... but Oreck's are the best! My mom's buying me one as part of our engagement gift - it's so sad that i'm getting excited over a vaccum

Re: Need vacuum recomendations
I have an oreck and I love it. It was expensive, but it came with the little vac that's great for picking up small things around the house. (Plus I got it as a gift, so I didn't pay the $$)I've also heard that dyson makes a great vac. This week's kohl's circular has one on sale for $399, which is the cheapest I've seen it, and if you have a kohl's card, there's an extra 15% off.
