NEED WEDDING DRESS ADVICE/HELP

NEED WEDDING DRESS ADVICE/HELP

OK, here is my dilemma...

I have my heart set on either a Monique Lhuillier Scarlet or Melissa Sweet Sadie. Someone is offering me a brand new, never worn Scarlet. However, the dress is a size 8 and I am a street size 0 or 2. Do you think an 8 is too big to tailor down to my size?

Also - this person is asking me to make an offer and for the life of me I can't rememebr th retail price. Does anyone know?>

you're about my size. i usually wear a 2 or 3 in street clothes. they ordered a size 6 for me when i bought my wedding gown. i was between a four and a six. an 8 may be a little big for you, but i guess you could alter it. but if you were going to alter it, you'll have to alter it by about two sizes from what i'm guessing. as far as the price, i'm not sure. you could call a bridal salon and just ask them over the phone how much they're selling it for.

I tried on both dresses and they both were between 4000-4500 if I remember correctly.

I'm in your boat! I fell in love with a discontinued Vera Wang Luxe! So I had to buy the floor sample---thank god it is in perfect condition---only needs to be dry-cleaned.
Anyway, I'm a size 0 in street clothes and this is an 8 or 10.
I had a minor melt down about the size thing, and ran over to talk to the ladies, and they totally put me at ease! It happens all of the time when people lose a ton of weight before their wedding!
It's not a problem!
Go for the dress

A friend of mine found a designer wedding dress as a sample - size 14 - and she's like a size 2 or 4. She had it altered by a good seamstress and on her wedding day, it was perfect.

If this is the dress for you at a price you can afford... go for it!

You've tried it on already, though, right? Just making sure - because most dresses that I ripped out of magazines did not suit me at all once I tried them on. Even if you know you can't afford the dress at retail price, go try it on to make sure it's the one for you before you buy it from this other seller.

I wear a size 6, but fit into size 10 Monique Lhullier gowns. You should be fine.

Wedding dresses run small, also, they can generally take in a dress up to 4 sizes, so you may be ok.
