I forgot about having the guests throw petals. Do fresh petals travel far when thrown or do I need dried petals?
Second, I don't like petal cones. How else could I give them out?

I dont know the answer to your first question but you can put the petals in a basket and have someone walk around with it and let people grab handfuls.

I thought of that but I don't want people to have to hold them throughout the ceremony. But thanks! Any other ideas?

on the way out, you can have an usher or someone holding the basket, and they can grab them headign out, waiting for you to exit.
or- what about little organza bags, that can tie up really cute? and you can color-coordinate them with your colors?

Michael's has small bags that are see-through and they are almost like toile material. They have handles that you can pull to make the top closed together and they come in many colors. FM me if you want some more info...or if I am making no sense at all!

My florist recommended urns filled with petals. No one has to hold them and I don't have to fuss with the cones.

Here is the situation...I am not having a receiving line because I am getting married at the same place as the reception. So they would just throw the petals from their seats as we walk down the aisle (after the big kiss).

I agree. If you don't like the cones then try the organza baggies. AND i just remebered that you are having your ceremony at the Oheka, possible outside so that would be more difficult using a basket. I think your GM/ushers would have to give them out at the beginning, when people are being seated!
I wouldn'[t have people just grab petals out of a basket until after the ceremony - as they are walking out of the Church. People will forget them in the seats if you give it to them as they first come in. Unless you are having hte wedding outside. Or get tulle circles and put some in each and tie with a bow.

For my sister's wedding we had baskets with them in the bakc of th church and then as evryone was elaving the church, the FG and some other people broght the baskets around and people grabbed a handfukl

Yeah, have people holding baskets after the ceremony and people will just take a handful of petals.
