my sister has been friends with this girl 'linda' for several years. they travelled to europe together after graduation and they keep in touch via the phone.
she recently got invited to her wedding, but the invite was only addressed to her and not with guest. mind you my sister is 25 years old. she does not know 'lindas' other friends and feels weird that she cant bring anyone, even though 'linda' knows she has a long term b-friend.
what should she do in this situation? rsvp no, or rsvp yes and write in with a guest?

Re: need your advice for my sister
Hmmmm, I'm not one for etiquette (I'm saying that too much today!), but maybe it was an oversight? Maybe if she gave her friend a call? I don't know. I wouldn't feel comfortable just writing in & Guest.

I would not suggest rsvping with a guest. There are many reasons why she might not have been invited with a guest - a big one could be a tight budget.
She should call and ask if she could bring her long time boyfriend and start a dialogue. Communication is key.

Re: need your advice for my sister
If the girl knows she has a long term boyfriend she probally didn't put & guest because she can't, either because of too may guests or not enough$. IMO I would either speak to her about it & find outt if it would be ok for to bring a guest or just rsvp no. Again, IMPO I would say it is never polite to rsvp w/more than the # invited.
