What are you ladies doing for bridesmaid shoes? I have not been a bridezilla by any means, the only thing I asked was for closed toe dyeables. I figured you cant see them anyway under a long dress. Well yesterday my best friend tells me that when she told a coworker she needed dyeable shoes the girl responded with 'that is so out' UGH! Really? I had to remind my best friend that not only did we have closed toe dyeables for her, she wanted everyone in the same shoe! so now I am upset and second guessing my choice. Their dress is eggplant in color. Pic in my album. I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

I don't think dyables are out! It's fine! If that's what you want, then get it.
I just told my girls to get silver shoes - they are wearing a wine colored long gown. I had a hard enough time getting them to order their dresses so it would have been a nightmare if they had to do dyables! I couldn't be bothered with the stress it would have caused me!

I'm not doing dyeables nor do I care if they're all wearing the same shoe. The dresses are long - no one's goin to see their feet.

Re: Need your Help
I just had the girls get silver strappy sandals. Didn't matter to me what they looked like.
My mom did dyeables and they were great.
Do whatever YOU want... seriously, people should just keep their mouths shut.

Re: Need your Help
Personally if you can't even see the shoe... then to me it doesn't matter what shoe they are wearing. open toe, closed toe, dyed, not dyed, high, low....etc. So I told my girls to make sure they get shoes that are comfortable for them and if possible get silver... if they can't get silver... no biggie. I really don't mind that much. Main concern is comfort, since they are wearing them all day long! haha!
However, if this girl had specific stipulations on her shoes... then she has NO RIGHT to say a word about your shoe choices. I call that a HYPROCRYTE!!!!!!!!!!!! Big time!!! I would be sooo annoied by this if I were you...

I don't think dyeables are out but I would do silver shoes just becasue they can use them again. I chose long gowns for my girls and are just asking them to have strapy heeled silver sandals. no one will really seem them so I dont mind them being different.

Re: Need your Help
I wanted to use silver sandals, but when we tried them on with the dress, it just didn't look right. (They had tea length dresses). So we went with dyables. I told them to get whatever shoe they wanted so they would be comfy, and they all happened to pick the same shoe lol. We went to Payless..it was $45 for the shoe & dying, so at least they didn't spend too much for a shoe they won't use again.
I don't think dyables are out, but I wanted them to have a shoe they could use again..it just didn't work out...but if they have long dresses, you could go either way.

If dyeables are sooo out then why do they sell them? I would still stick with the dyeables no matter what.

Re: Need your Help
I dont think they are technically 'out', per se, but I think the more current style is either black, gold or a silver heel, since those colors match most any color dress and arent too matchy matchy. Plus the girls can wear them again.

1 - I do say do what you want and it seemed kind of rude to tell you that what you wanted was 'out'
for me I honestly just told the girls to wear whatever they wanted that looked good with the dress bc the matching wasn't important to me and they all looked great but its individual so go for what you want. .

Thanks girls!, You are bringing up a lot of great points! I do want them to be comfortable since they have to wear them all day & night. At least if I go with the silver shoes they can wear them again.
Since their dresses are in, as soon as one of them goes for a fitting I can see what it looks like in person!

Re: Need your Help
Sorry I'm crashing but I just saw this and a few weeks ago my aunt was up visiting from Maryland with her sister (whom is not related to me, nor am I close enough to her to invite her to the wedding)
and the sister starts asking me all these questions about the wedding and out of no where she says 'Oh don't make your girls get silver shoes, if I have to buy one more pair of ugly silver shoes for a wedding I'm going to start killing the brides. what are they thinking?'
This was like a week after I told all my girls they could all get silver shoes once I finally pick the dress so that way they can pick whatever they want.
Some people are just going to obnoxiously insert their opinion everywhere when you're planning a wedding. I'm just going to come to expect it and not let it bother me. Do whatever makes you happy!

Re: Need your Help
I told them all to just get whatever brown, gold or bronze shoe that matched and was comfortable. No one is going to see their shoes any way and I didn't want to make them buy a pair of shoes that they really couldn't use for anything again... It's your preference, whatever you want them to do.

Re: Need your Help
I know! You would have thought that we were asking them to walk down the aisle in Bunny slippers!!!!! Although that would be a good idea!
