Its been forever since I have been on here mainly because my computer broke (still isnt fixed) so I can only go on when at my moms house. Anyway my fiance and I have yet to come up with a decision on what to do for a wedding. We don't want a huge expensive hall type wedding since we just bought a house and cant afford one. I was hoping that I could get some ideas from you girls. I am not worried about limos or fancy centerpieces since my fiance is very simple and I have already been married and had the big wedding and am okay to do it very very simple this time around. He has a very large family and would like for them to all enjoy it with us. We are on an extremely low budget and when I mean low I dont want to go higher than $5,000. Looking to do this in October so any ideas out there would be great...I came up with two suggestions 1- just immediate family going to a restaurant to eat or something in our backyard. Fiance doesn't want a bunch of people at our house and the restaurant is still an option. I know I am not leaving much to work with but someone out there has to have been in the same situation as me. Thank you so much ladies!!!

Re: Need Your Help
What if you rent out a nice VFW and have it catered? I think you would be able to do that for a good amount of people and still stay in your price range

I know the Knights of Colubus is Oceanside does the whole catered thing and linens and all. I have used the one in Farmindale. it is a decent sized room and they have a bar. You cater your own food in though. I would check it out.

Re: Need Your Help
I am looking to invite 100 people hoping it will be a little less than that. October is what I came up with because it gives a little time to plan and any further into the cold months I cant do. My father unfortunately is allergic to the cold (sounds crazy I know but its an extremely unique blood disorder) so he wouldn't be able to be there..literally stuck in the house for the whole winter.

ohhh i see well then suggesting that maybe you push it back to December to get cheaper prices from halls may not work..LOL.... In that case looking at a VFW may be your best bet.

Re: Need Your Help
At first I wanted the same, but my fiance wanted a more traditional. I priced out a lot of restaurants and was still coming out at like 50$pp. I think the catering hall might be cheaper. We settled on the Coral House because they had the BEST prices I could find. Also, if you do want flowers, Margies Florist in farmingdale is a small place but gave us great prices.
