My brother is getting married next weekend. Today I went to pick up the dress from the tailor and he ruined it--he shortened it and it's incredibly uneven. Worse still, here's an overlay and it's too short. So the whole dress is going to have to be shortened a lot for it to be even. The dress is supposed to be tea length, and now it's going to be ABOVE the knee!!
I spoke to my brother and he told me to get another one!!
Anyone have any idea where I might find a specific Alfred Angelo dress in navy ASAP???

OMG that's terrible! Could Phyllis at Gownfind do anything for you? I don't know anything about her really but from what I've read on these boards she can practically work miracles...

100%, absolutely agreed! Do not pay for the alterations and insist that this tailor pay for the new dress. Do you have a style number?!?

SO FUNNY you should say that--I know everyone raves about her, so I just called. At 8pm at night, she still answered and helped me for about 20 minutes!! She's going to call Alfred Angelo tomorrow and see if they have more of the organza that they can overnight to her, and then she could attach a new skirt to the dress. Only problem is that I'm in NYC, the wedding is in CT....I'd have to find a time to get out there to her!!
Let's hope they can send Phyllis more of the organza!!

Some of the websites like bridesave.com and houseofbrides.com may offer rush orders. Or check ebay. You never know if someone is selling the same dress.
