I am having a small party at my house in Sept to introduce the members of our BP (they don't really know each other well and mine and FH parents have never met) I was thinking of getting some cheapo invitations from vistaprint or something to mail out but I want to keep it casual and light and don't want ANYONE to bring us gifts or money or feel that they should have if they didn't
Any ideas of a cute little saying or something we can put on the card?
posted on BHB as well
TIA!!

Re: Need your help ladies...
maybe if you try to word it on the invite as a 'pre-wedding gathering (dinner, event,) ' instead of party no one will feel obligated to bring gifts. People know not to bring gifts to RDs, worst case someone shows up with a bottle of wine or an extra dessert.

i wouldnt worry about it. if they bring gifts, dont open them infront of any1..cuz the ppl that didnt get u anything will feel bad. as they should. i never go to anyones home empty handed, especialy an occasion.
i know u arent hosting this party for gifts, but i wouldnt write anything like that on the card.
Thanks girls. Should I even send a card then or not just aske them in person or on email?

do an evite.
I love the idea of a nice invite in the mail, but totally not necessary. save it for the RD

Re: Need your help ladies...
My FSIL is having a party in a couple of weeks so everyone can see her house ( she got married last year ) and celebrate husband's 35th and her 30th. She did Vistaprint and in the bottom right corner put ' Please no gifts, your presence is our present!' I thought it was very cute and i am sure most will buy a bottle of wine or dessert, like the others said. But at least no one is buying a Gift.
