As some of you may know, I am now getting married out of state. I was originally going with the traditional fall colors....oranges, yellows etc, but now I feel like the location calls for something more simpler. My girls are wearing chocolate brown, and I'm wondering if I could use pink or lighter colors for the flowers instead? What do you think? I've also thought about sunflowers....which is COMPLETELY the other end of the spectrum...and now I'm just lost....help....
I am doing brown and pink. I love your idea of sunflowers. That would make a beautiful bouquet.

Hmm... I think that chocolater brown and yellow would be beautiful, but sunflowers are too 'summery' for October, I think. But are you changing your whole color scheme based on the outside of the building where you're getting married? Why?
We're getting married at a country inn and my colors are pink and orange, but it's in June.

No....not changing it based on the outside of a building. The entire location has a very different feel. Very calm and relaxing....I also think if I went to 'fallish' with the colors, it would look like an autumn fair and not a wedding...does that make any sense?

That makes sense but looking 'too autumn' isn't a big deal, if you are really into the look and the colors. If you're doing it just to do it, well now you have a chance to experiment!
How about brown with pink and yellow? Brown dresses for the girls with pink and yellow flowers, pink and yellow flowers for you tied together with brown ribbon, pink and yellow flowers for the CPs with some branches in there for a tie-in with the brown... Brown and yellow will be for 'autumn' and the pink will make it not too 'autumn-y'

Sunflowers are my FAVORITE. I would find out the what are the flowers in season at that time and go from there. Almost anything will look great with brown

You can do brown and pink. If you do chose to use traditional fall colors, your reception will not look like a country fair.
Mine didn't.
I used the fall colors to take advantage of the flowers that were in season at the time, to be able to accessorize with fall leaves and berries, use gold, burgundy and ivory to wrap my favors.

I love brown with pink. I am sure you can do that. Also, if you get the pics out in front of the place (in front of the pic) you can do it in black and white so you cant really tell the color of the building. Hope this helps.

i actually LOVE the idea of sunflowers...it's something a little different & it will be BEAUTIFUL. My cousin just got married this past october & had sunflowers in her bo-k's...it looked fabulous.
