NEED YOUR HELP/INVITATIONS

My chat never works! it says there are thiry four people in live chat and everytime I do it I am the only one in there>>>???I have an invitation question, since no one keeps the outside envelope, do you think it is okay to use a fancy calligraphy and print labels? I cant find a reasonable calligrapher, if anyone knows of one please email me, plus there are some great caligraphy fonts in word perfect 9
do you think it will look bad? The label is a regular mailing label and not too large, they do come out really nice, let me know what you think
also my wedding is 8/25 and I was going to mail the invites on june 18th, too early , too late?? I went to a party yesterday and they had an invite for august 3rd on their fridge, dont know when it was received,
thanks!!

Re: NEED YOUR HELP/INVITATIONS

Is there anyway you can print directly on the envelope, instead of using labels? IMHO, I don't think you should use labels. I also don't think it's necessary to use a calligrapher. If you can print the envelopes or find someone with excellent handwriting, try that. Also, that might be a little early for sending the invites. 6-8 weeks is typical, and I think if you have out of town guests go with 7 or 8 weeks. So, I would say July 1st should be the earliest.

I think the date you want to mail them is fine as long as you have no invites going out of the country. As for the mailing labels, it's just my opinion but I really don't think it would look that great. What you can do though is if you can print out the labels, why can't you print on the envelopes in a calligraphic font? A lot of people do that and that looks really pretty. All you have to do is set up your mail merge for envelopes and select a custom size. Then put in the height and width of the envelopes. If you choose the right font they can come out like a professional did them . If you can't do your own envelopes i think it woudl be better if you hand addressed them versus the labels.

Re: NEED YOUR HELP/INVITATIONS

I'm thinking of printing the addresses directly on the envelopes, or handwriting them. I don't see spending anymore extra money at this point. Also, my wedding is August 31, 2002 and I'm sending my invites out around the same time. I figured it's better, since we're the main one's that live out of town and our wedding is on Labor Day weekend. Our respond date isn't until July 31st though. We don't need to give the reception hall a final count until 2 weeks before the wedding. Good luck!

Someone on this site recommended inkspun.com-- you can get the envelopes done on a computer for less than 70 cents for bothe the inner and outer envelope.

Your printer should be able to print on square evelopes just as well as rectangular ones.

IMHO, I think labels scream 'bill' or 'business letter' not formal function.
