scratch offs..........this Always gets A LOT of tickets ................because people are always driven by curiosity the chance of winning a lot of money.......... ........this is what I do ..........usally the Chinese auction had a theme ........I get a big star at a party store hole punch some holes at the edge of the star tie some satin ribbon and ad pictures around (like flower if it is spring or anything that has do to with the company) this gives the eye the allusion that there are more scratch offs on the ribbon that there actually is this usually gets A LOT of tickets in the box........... you can come up with lots of other ideas I am sure...........GOOD LUCK

Something for the guys could be a car washing kit that has the cleaners, wax, sponge, etc.
For the ladies a pampering kit with body wash, lotions, a loofah, etc.
And I'm sure everyone could would enjoy a basket of goodies that has candy, chips, nuts, etc.
HTH!!

Re: Need your ideas for a chinese auction!
My school does a chinese auction each year. Some of the most popular baskets seems to be baskets of beauty products (such as spa day, hair care, etc) night at the movies, music, baking goods, children's toys. One really good basket was a picnic basket filled with bottles of wine, wine glasses, and some other related items. I wanted to win it but didn't :(. Something that might be really popular now might be something dance related...ballroom dance certificate, maybe a dvd about dancing (shall we dance...etc). Just pick a themse and take it from there...have fun!
