Need Your Input-Fall Wedding

Hi Ladies-

I am getting married Oct 1st, and feel pretty calm (today)....I have a question, I had in my mind putting rose petals in a burgandy color on the tables for the reception....but this past weekend FH and I were shopping and found packages of fall leaves, and he wants to put these on the tables - we got 800 leaves assorted fall color and sizes, they are silk...Now, this is a great idea, but it 'takes away' from the 'wedding theme' of the rose petals, and I don't know what to do or which way to go, fall leaves or the petals, can you help w/ suggestions ---I need another input.

I think the leaves could be lovely if fall is your theme. If fall is not your theme than I would do the roses. I think roses are very elegant.

I used the silk leaves on the tables. I didn't have a extreme fall theme but a little in my color scheme. The BM wore wine/burgundy and their bouquets were fall colors and my placecards were mini pumkins. Most accessories were ivory and maroon/wine.

I liked how the leaves looked.

I was going to go w/ a fall theme in the beginning and everything was going to be leaves. Then when I went to the florist and picked out the bouquets she showed me roses in all different shades of reds and pinks so that completely shot the fall them out of the water. I think if your whole theme is fall than the leaves will look great but if you are having roses for everything else I think you should keep it the same. JMO.

I went to a wedding last Sept, late in the month, and she sort of did both. She had leaves scattered on the table and in the CPs but not too many. Then she had rose petals also scattered (again not too many) but in fall colors that coordinated with the leaves. It looked really nice!

I am havign a semi fall themed wedding, but I thoguht leaves int he bouquets looked dead, so I wnet with fall colorsinstead. I liek the rose petals ideas better, but maybe mixing them together would look good too.

We're having a slight 'fall' themed wedding. We have a pumpkin with our names engraved for our table and we're putting silk leaves on the tables. I like the look of leaves but I don't think it takes away from the wedding. I'm still having roses for my bo-ks

why don't you ask your florist to try and show you some boquets with leaves in them - I don't have any pictures, but I'm sure you could do it -

My flowers are the rich fall colors, my dress is ivory, and I thought if i got burgandy rose petals to mix w/ the fall leaves it would work. but not over doing it on either end. I don't have a theme, but am using fall colored flowers and that is about it, and not many roses I don't think either....

I just decided that I am going to do a fall theme! I actually really like your idea of the burgandy rose petals. I think it will look fabulous! Have a great time!

Ok..so we're having a completely autumn themed wedding..and I am totally stealing your pumkin with names idea!!! I wanted to line the garden with pumkins that were carved with wedding bells and things like that, but there isn't the time, and they don't keep for more than a week, but one with our names I could pull off!

I made my own cp's for my RD last Sept. I used maroon and beige roses and eucalyptus seeds, raffia ribbon on the vase, I cored out real apples and used them as candle holders and sprinkled silk leaves on the table. I can only find b&w pictures of it, maybe it will help you:

i love the fall leaves idea, mainly because that is what we are doing!!! we are having a complete autumn themed wedding though. i think u could pull off both leaves and rose petals... just work w/ the colors, that is the main thing!
