Someone recently shot down my idea of having a sheath dress for my wedding dress. I hate the way the poof looks on me and there are so many different dresses that are just as beautiful as ballgowns. This woman told me that I am only a bride once and I have to wear a poofy dress or there is no point. I never saw it that way and was seriously offended. What do you think?

NO way I dont agree with that at all. In my opinion you should by whatever dress you are most comfortable with and makes YOU happy.

Re: Need your opinion
No reason to be offended, it's just an opinion. But you're the bride and you wear whatever you want. If you decide that you want to wear a potato sack while walking down the aisle then you do it! The reason why there are so many different styles of dresses is because we all have different taste. Not every bride has to wear a poofy princess dress, I think this website proved that!

Re: Need your opinion
you can still be a bride without the poofy dress. I personally want a nice A-line dress, not anything huge, I just won't be comfortable in that. Although the more I see girls post there dresses on here the more I'm tempted to try the bigger dresses on

Re: Need your opinion
Go with what you are most comfortable in. You are the one who is paying and wearing the dress so you might as well choose the one that makes YOU smile when you look in that mirror.

Who told you that? The salesperson? Tell her youll go poofy when she buys you the most expensive poofy dress!!It drives me nuts when ppl try to dictate what others should do for their wedding!!!

Re: Need your opinion
If you are not feeling a pouf, do NOT get one. You will regret it. I have zero poof and I am 100% bride!

Re: Need your opinion
do whatever makes u happy!!! maybe meet with a different person?
i went to a place and specifically said i wanted lace/organza/tulle etc and no satin satin strapless gowns (i had tried them on before and knew i didnt like them)....and of course the first dress she brought was a satin strapless ballgown. and she told me i was eliminating 95% of the gowns and my response was well i only need 1 gown so im happy looking at the '5%' and nothing else.
