Need your opinion: Thinking about changing ceremony time
FH and I are getting married on the beach. Right now we have the ceremony start time as 4pm. The reception location is just steps away as well, so the reception would start probably around 4:30. We have the place until it closes.
As it stands now our DJ will start at 3:30 (pre-ceremony music) and will end at 8:30 and we will switch to the music system at the restaurant.
Sunset at this time of year is not until 5:30, but the beach is on the north side of the island, so we may not get a great view of the sunset anyway.
So here's the question, leave the ceremony as it stants, or move it to 5pm and everything shifts down an hour.
And another thought, if we start at 4 then our guests will be sitting in some sun (hopefully), if we start at 5 if will be darker.
What do you think?

Re: Need your opinion: Thinking about changing ceremony time
i was having trouble choosing my start time as well. our ceremony is outdoors (and we're taking pics AFTER the ceremony) so i needed to make sure it would be light out for a little while. on the other hand, i didn't want my reception to end early!
when are you taking pictures? and will the be outside? i think that might be a big determining factor.

You know what, I never even thought about pictures! Thank you so much! I will leave it how it is so we have some light for photos after the ceremony. I'm sure we'll take a bunch on the beach and in the sea side village. Duh. Pictures!
