I purchased my dress on March 3rd and was never told how long it would take to come in. My fault for not asking. I called the salon yesterday to inquire about their veils and decided to ask when my dress would be in. She takes my info and comes back and tells me mid to end of May. So my dress is taking 14-15 months. I don;t understand this. I was about to fly off the handle but decided to give myseld a day to cool off. Now I go away for business at the end of May and return the 2nd week of June. God forbid there is a problem with my dress what is going to happen. So I need to know what you guys think I should say to them.
eta - The thing that makes me kind of upset is while I am sure about my dress now I wasn't right after I ordered it and I think they may have waited to put my order in, which means I could have gone back and tried on a few more dresses just to make sure. Nothing I can do now I guess.

I would call them and ask them why its taking that long for the dress to come in. See if there is anything they can do to get it to you sooner. Tell them you arent that comfortable getting the dress that close to your wedding and your going to be away for business...........

i never understood salons......i ordered mine in february and they said it wouldnt be in until january 07-11 months. well i got a call in april/may that it was in! i havent looked at it yet...but i think you should call to let them know you are concerned about timing. i would let them know you will be away too.

These salons are totally ridiculous. There are plenty of brides who plan their wedding in like 6 months and order their gowns as opposed to buying them off the rack.
They probably wait to place the order so that it's not sitting in their store or in your closet for too long. I'm sure that's the rhyme and reason. I would call them and tell them you need it by April And I truly believe they are full of sh!t if they tell you they can't do that. Good luck!

It sounds like to me that they waited to put your order in. This happened to my sister. We ordered our BM dresses from Bay Shore Bridal and they didn't even come in until a few weeks before the wedding (July 9th) and we ordered them in November. They were Bill Levkoff. It was such a mess, I actually had to go down there and yell at them since my sister, the brides, lives in the DC area.

I would definitely call and find out when the order was placed-if it wasnt the date or around the date you put the order in ask why they waited so long? THen I would begin to be an @ss-explain to them that you never in a million years thought it would take X amount of months to come in.
Also, I was told this the other day-b/c I was having a moment.....they put a date down as when it will come in for the worst case scenario, so most likely it will be in before that date For you, I HOPE it will

Girlfriend..you are getting a super high end, quality, custom dress.
Sometimes they take long. Mine is not coming in until june and I am getting married the weekend before you

Also...remember, they also try and underpromise and overproduce. That way we are surprised and happy when it comes in a month or so early.
