I'll try and keep this short....originally we were just having a best man and a maid of honor in our party. We recently added a favorite uncle on FH's side. I'd like to add another girl to balance it out, and originally I thought I would ask FH's sister. Then I realized that I don't have any of my blood relatives in the wedding. I have 2 sisters. One of them had asked me early on not to make her part of the wedding party. She would rather enjoy it as a guest. The other sister and I haven't been close for a few years now...long story. Anyhow....my question is....do I ask my sister her feelings on beong in the party and let her decide as I did with my other sister? Or do I just ask FH's sister? I'm in a quandary.....what to do?

Re: Need your opinions....
If you are close with FH's sister then ask her. Do NOT base your decisions on other people's feelings. You could ask your sister but then what if she say's yes because she thinks you WANT her to? Then she does a so-so job as o BM, then you might resent her. You could also just leave it uneven. JMPO, I don't think boys and girls need to be even, it is hard enough picking people, then when you try to make it even one of you ususally ends up asking people whom you normally wouldn't ask. GL, let us know what you do.

I would ask your sister first, then if she doesn't want to, ask FH's sister.

Thanks for the advice. My MOH also had mentioned that it didn't have to be even. It's weird though, as soon as he added his uncle I immediately mentally added his sister. There was no thinking involved. I just thought since I gave my other sister the option, that I should ask my oldest sister too, and let her decide. This way I don't have to hear about how she didn't get asked. Is it wrong to not have any of your blood relatives stand up for you? Should I offer her a reding instead? Awww....this *****!

If you really want to extend the offer to your sister-I would (only b/c she is your sister) otherwise with her answer I would ask FHs sister. I dont think there is anything wrong with not having your relatives stand up for you. My sister wasnt in the BP but that was b/c of different reasons (she was in boot camp) but it is entirely up to you who you have stand there with you.

Re: Need your opinions....
Thanks for the advice. I thought about it a lot last night, and am going to put it out there to my sister first, and let her decide. If she really isn't into it, I will as FSIL....
