Need your opinions

So this weekend I visited with my cousin/bridesmaid, she got a divorce about 2 years. She gave me her head piece, garter and purse from her wedding, to use on my wedding day. I know her giving it to me means a lot to her and took a lot for her to do so since she has had a horrible time these past 2 years. I know the stuff might not even go with my dress since I haven't started looking at them yet but I have a weird feeling about using it because she got divorced.


Am I just being nuts? Am I making it a bigger deal than it is? Would you use the things?

I need opinions, I am so confused!!!!

I'll be honest, if I were in your position I wouldn't. This is only because I'm really superticious and believe in 'good luck' and any other nonsense luck related superstitution you can think of. That's just me though. If you feel comfortable borrowing the stuff- why not?

Yeah, those nice things deserve to be part of a happy marriage! haha
I would use them. I mean I wouldn't use some other things (like a dress) but as accessories I don't think that they would carry enough bad luck to doom an otherwise good coupling!

I dont think its a bad thing to use them...She gave them to you with all intentions of you using them in happiness, not wishing you bad karma and divorce. You can always see once you get your dress if what she gave you matches, if it does you can use it as your something old. I wouldnt be superstitious about using them...plus it might help out with money and what not.

i see it completely differently... i see it as your cousin taking a piece of her and her happiness on her wedding day (whether theyre still together or not im sure she WAS happy on her day) and giving it to you. i think its really sweet of her to offer it to you.. and probably even therapeutic for her to get rid of it and let someone else enjoy them. im usually VERY superstitious but this doesnt strike me as a 'bad omen'

I agree completely. Maybe if you were going to wear her dress THEN I'd be a little worried. :)

i honestly dont know if i would be able to use them. but i understand that you dant want to hurt her feelings.
i would want my things to bring good memeories and if i was in your place i would probably be thinking about the hard time your cousin had when i was using them. its not that they are cursed or bad luck. its i would want me own things to look back on and have jsut memories on my day and not have to think about the first time they were used.
