This has been on my mind, and I just would like to hear your opinions.. My Fh wanted a small bp..he has 2 brothers, 1 sister and 2 SIL's..and I am an only child..Since fh wanted a small bp, he chose to have his 2 bro's as his best men. He has many close friends and cousins that he wouldn't be able to choose, and I have 4 very close friends who I must have as my MOH and bm's. Needless to say,I or shall I say we, are not having his sister or 2 sil's in the bridal party. He is the one who said for it to be that way, I am the one who has been worried about what they might think. We are not all that close, and these girls have been in sooo many bp's lately and have nothing but complained. I just feel that this is his family, and if he''s not worried about it ..should I ?? I want to do the right thing, but we also don't want 7 bm's and 2 best men.. Girls, help! If this was you would you mind not being in your bro's wedding? The only one , maybe, who might mind would be fh's sister..not his sil's! Just for another example, Fh's brother and sil got married last week and I was the ONLY one from the family NOT in their BP..FH was one of their BM.. What do you think? Should I stress over this??

I wouldn't stress if you're not close to these girls, esp. since they're complaining about being in other BP's. You don't want them wining about being in yours too, you want them to truly WANT to be there. For instance: I'm Extremely close to FH's sister, and if I didn't include her, it would have been like not including my own sisters! You have to WANT these girls to be there and vice versa, there is no law that you have to include FH's sisters/fam/friends!

i would not stress over this...if you are choosing to have a small bp with only friends and his 2 brothers, then that is fine.
i think the sil's would be relived in a way, less for them to deal with

Re: Need your opinions please..
If it makes you feel any better, my FH's two younger sisters arent in my BP either. I am not close to them at all and I did not want a huge BP. My sisters arent in it and neither is my sister in law. My sisters do not need to wear a dress and walk down the aisle to know how much I love them and how important they are to me. My family is fine with it but his sisters were upset. They will have to deal with it because ultimately, it is your day and only you and FH have to be happy. I caught a lot of (unspoken) flack from his mother about it. I even caught flack from LIW brides. IMAGINE THAT!!! How could I exclude family blah blah blah. It wasnt about exclusion, it was about keeping things simple - BIG DIFFERENCE. But it was a decision that WE as a COUPLE made together. You do what's best for you and don't let anyone make you feel bad about your decisions.

Re: Need your opinions please..
I think it really depends on how close your fh and his sisters are. I know if my sister and I were not in my brothers fiances bridal party, we would be very hurt. When siblings are in the bridal party, it is because their sibling wanted them to be in it, not necessarily because the FIL wanted them to be in it.

If FH doesn't want his sister and SILs in the bridal party I see no reason why you should stress about it. He made the decision, and if they are in any way upset about it, he can explain that he wanted to keep the bridal party small. Although based on the complaining you say they have been doing, I would think they are probably grateful they are not being asked to participate.
As for whether or not I personally would care about being part of my bro's bridal party, I wasn't and it didn't faze me at all. The way I look at it, it was my SIL decision who should be part of her day. Her friends had been her friends a heck of a lot longer than she knew me.
