I notice that some times people come on & write negative reviews about some vendors. (RH, ceremony location, video/photo, dj, band, bridal boutique etc) I was just wondering if other readers take these negative reviews to heart?? Would you up & change your wedding plans just because one person had a bad experience?? Or do you feel you get what you pay for??

Re: negative reviews
I don't think i would completely change everything because of one review, i think sometimes places/vendors can be having a bad day and could be not performing to the best of their abilities and could be the reason of the bad review or it could even be the bride that is just very picky and was having a bad day and didn't get along with the vendor that day.
I think if it i were to see alot of reviews i would start second guessing, but i don't know about changing everything

Re: negative reviews
It depends on what the bad review is about. I wouldn't change anything but it would defintely make me nervous!! If I continued to see a lot of reviews that are bad I might reconsider.
I have not considered vendors because I have seen many mix reviews on here.

Re: negative reviews
i have to agree i wouldn't change everything for a couple of bad reviews. if i start seeing a lot (15-20) then i would reconsider. but i also think you get what you pay for. i know when i was looking at RH's some places told me i will get a different amount of staff people depending on a friday or saturday night.

Re: negative reviews
hmm for the most part i would take all reviews with a grain of salt good or bad, only because people have varying opinions...every great vendor out there has to have had a bad review at some point right?
i wrote some not so stellar opinions about some halls i visited, but they are only that, opinions

Re: negative reviews
It depends on how much I take it to heart. When I was looking up reviews about a particular hall I was considering it was hard to find ONE review where the bride did not have a major complaint about the hall. Something like that I would be put off by....
Every hall & vendor has a bad day.... I just read a bunch of reviews to make sure those bad days are far & few between.

Re: negative reviews
Like the other girls said, if it were 20 bad reviews (which I have seen) I would never book that vendor. But most places or people will have an off day so I wouldn't judge it by that.

Re: negative reviews
I do appreciate negative reviews and I take them into account. Everybody is different though. I have seen rave reviews about RHs that FH and I attended weddings at we hated them. Everybody likes different things based of their life experinces.

Re: negative reviews
If every single review I read was negative- I'd probably stay away from that vendor. If there's one HUGE HUGE compliant (like the vendor didnt show up) there's a good chance I wont consider that vendor.
But if one person has a small complaint- its not a big deal- it happens.

Re: negative reviews
I agree about taking all reviews with a grain of salt, whether good or bad. I like to make my own opinions or assumptions of things based on my own experiences. I've heard a lot of bad things about one of the vendors i'm using but I went and made my own decision about them based on my experience. And i'm happy with the choice i've made.

Re: negative reviews
I actually wish more people would come forward with negative reviews...to better help me make decisions. I feel like 99.9 percent of the time people only write the good ones and leave out negative experiences. I want to hear good and bad!

Re: negative reviews
08 er crashing but I have to say unless I saw a lot of bad reviews I wouldnt...for example a girl was bashing a florist on here and got a lot of people nervous days later she came on and ws like Oh I emailed the wrong address no problem they are great again...it was silly and it made me realize you trust your opinion and reason why you booked the vendor.

Re: negative reviews
Unless it was a lot of negative reviews that had to do with
- bad product - not showing up - not doing what was expected of them (i.e., you had a written agreement for X they did Y)
I wouldn't... the reviews are helpful... but I've seen some pretty unnecessary stress put on vendors and brides due to these reviews.
You have to believe that you're paying for a product and you need to check the BBB to make sure your vendor is reputable and just go with how you feel.
