Negotiate Per Person Price?

hi girls,

how negotiable are the reception halls?? instead of throwing in extras, i rather take out some things and lower the price instead... is it possible???

also, i saw some girls mentionrd that if we pay cash, we may be able to not pay tax? is it true? and is it legal? we can totally pay cash, but don't want to break no laws!!

thanks in advance!!

Normally, you can't get out paying tax at your hall, but you can do this with most vendors like your dj, photographer, videographer and so on...

a lot of the halls expect cash (or bank check) anyway - we were not able to get out of tax wih anyone

the reason halls like to throw things in is it's cheaper for them to do that than lower your price - you can try it - but i know that halls would rather throw stuff in!

I work in catering and it is very easy to throw things in and it is done all the time It gives them a better reputation as well

you can definitely do that.. sometimes they may even lower you a few bucks and throw some things on. just remember it NEVER hurts to ask.

we were with our photographer for about 2 hours. we went back to write up the contract, everything was set in stone, and we still asked.. and he threw some more pictures into our album. he's like hey, you ask and you shall recieve.

the worst that happens, is they say no.

I negotiated Villa Lombardi's to $15.00 LESS per person.

I negotiated $15 pp down..

I guaranteed a higher amount of people-- that's another way to do it- worked for me!

And remember- the price is never what they first tell you- you should not accept it as their final pp cost.

yeah they'll NEVER give you the best price they can offer! So tell them that a competitor offered it for less $ per head and they should come down! and asking for a reduction for kids 12 and under helps alot if your expecting a good amt of kids at your wedding! But not all halls will do it..
