Negotiating a Shower?

Negotiating a Shower?

My mom wants my shower at Mirabelle at Three Village Inn

The per person price is slighting over her maximum she wanted to spend - we will be inviting like 80 people to the shower (We already cut off 30)

Is it weird to negotiate for a shower?

**Side Note: Anyone have quotes for a shower at Danfords or Old Field Club? We want to keep it local and those are the next on our list if this place doesn't work out.

Negotiate EVERYTHING, that's my philosophy

Why would it be weird?

I have no idea - lol I guess I just never thought about it.

I think originally we were looking at restaurants to have it in and I didn't even consider negotiating..

but now that we're looking into reception halls for it, I was thinking about negotiating...

I think my problem is I don't know how to negotiate.

I have no skills in this area

I think at my reception hall I was like like
'Can this be cheaper?' and the BM actually laughed at me lol

In this economy, it's not weird to negotiate on anything. If you were ok neg. with the hall for your wedding why would a shower be any different?

I wasn't okay with negotiating the hall. ^^^
My negotiation skills are lacking.

Restaurant, hall, whatever, always negotiate.

I negotiated everything with my hall, or tried to.

Since it's a holiday, I said 'I assume the minimum is lower since it's a less desirable date' and there you go, minimum lowered by 20.

I always asked 'Is this really the best you can do?'

'I really like this place, but I was planning to only spend x'

'I know it's usually $X, but could you throw that in for us?'

'What if you include,x,y and z for $w?'

It never hurts to just ask.

If the place is more than mom's willing to spend, then tell her to tell him what she is willing to spend and ask if there's anything they can do
