Negotiating AFTER contract is signed

Negotiating AFTER contract is signed

I booked with my caterer and now I'm hearing from so many other friends that the caterer has thrown in so many extras for them (at the same cost). Is there anyone who had to negotiate for something after the contract was already signed. My FH called and the guy we dealt with basically shrugged him off. My dad says that if I negotiate after the contract is signed it's like asking for a favor. But I figure it's my money, and one way or another they are definitely going to profit. I thought that this would be one of the benefits of having a Thursday wedding.

So far I've been extremely happy with them but we went there because we had been to two weddings there before and they were amazing. The guy told us that he receives alot of his business from referrals. That being said I would think they would be a little bit more accomodating.

Did anyone have to negotiate anything after the contract was signed? What was the outcome?

I negotiated after i signed the contract. I actually changed the date within one month of signing and then i re-negotiated the new price. I believe that after you sign the worst they can say is no... so I think you should try.

In my contract it states that the price has already been negotiated and cannot be changed...but as far as extras some have been negotiated after the contract was signed

You should go meet with him and tell him what your friends got from them and that you would like it as well. If he it gave it to them why wouldn't he want to keep you happy and give it to you?

Since you've already signed the contract, it will obviously be more challenging to negotiate. You probably won't be able to get the hall to budge on price alone, but like the other pps said, ask for extras to be included in your existing price using what the hall has given others for leverage.
