question-has anyone ever negotiated the price of rent? orrr have you negotiated the security deposit/reality fee?

yes we negotiated our rent. def don't feel bad asking...the worst thing they can say is no!

Absolutely. Doesn't hurt to try. Often they'll budge a little especially if they see you as a good, responsible tenant.

I negotiated down $300/month. This was almost 6 years ago...my rent also has never been raised.
I told her that I don't throw parties because I don't like messes (true), that I'm fairly quiet (true, usually), that I don't smoke and that I would rarely have guests over. (It's a private house, landlady lives downstairs, so all of these things would potentially affect her IF I took part in them)
You are in a better position since now people are DYING to have people rent their apartments.

OMG we negotiated a LOT!
We got them down $100/month in rent and they usually required 2 months + security but we negotiated to give just once month + security!
