Anybody have good tips on negotiating your price per plate? We are between 2 places that cost exactly the same and offer similar things. The deciding factor will be if we can get them lower their price and how much. Thanks.

Re: Negotiating RH price
Tell them that you like them but alos like hall x and got a better deal from them. They may ask for the contract from the other places I hav heard of that but either way you are the customer so they should believe you lol.

If they won't lower the price per person, ask if they can throw in extras (extra CH stations, chair covers, venetian hour etc.). They might be more likely to do that than get less money overall.

Ask them if they'll waive the tax if you pay in cash. Some places let you and some don't.

Re: Negotiating RH price
Definitely mention t hat you are between both places but you want to be able to get the most for your money. and say 'Place X gave me this price and threw in this, what can you do to match the price?' Make it seem like you could go either way so they will be more willing to come down in price.

Re: Negotiating RH price
I had the same issue and in the end I got throw in's w/ the CH,upgrade in linens, chair covers, expresso and cordial bar, cookies, pastries and fresh fruit on each table. I also got one place to lower it 2$ pp off the plate price. If you arent a smooth talker def bring someone w/ you who has no shame in trying to haggle! My dad got me stuff even after my hall said this is the bottom line!

Re: Negotiating RH price
I am between Westbury Manor and Fox Hollow. Same price, similar menus, same atmosphere. We're going back on Saturday with my finances parents. Hopefully my FMIL will be able to get one down even if its only a dollar or two. But more would always be better :)

Aren't they both Scotto Bros?
They might be less willing to negotiate knowing they're getting the $$ either way

if you go there and tell them you are btw 2 diff locations they will throw something in. I did that but it was btw fox hollow and watermill and since the scotto bros had some fight and let go of watermill i ended up getting alot more

Re: Negotiating RH price
I wasn't between 2. I knew damn well I wanted the CB but we lied and said we got a deal at another hall for less. They asked for the contract but we told them it wasn't on us. He went into another room and dropped it 6 dollars! Which was 2 dollars LESS than what we said the other place was!!! GO ME
try it

Re: Negotiating RH price
The RH we booked didn't really need negotiating after seeing what was being offered for the price. We had visited 12 RH's and had a good idea of what we would get for the money we were budgeting ourselves pp.
I am hoping down the road (doubtful but hopeful) that we may able to swap out this for that if possible.

Is this really possible??
I plan on paying for everything in cash/check (no credit cards) I wonder if halls will back off some of the tax???

I'd say it's possible with some vendors, but not usually with RH. They are big establishments and more likely to get audited. You can ask though

Good point-maybe i'll skip this question at the RH; but remember it when it comes to other vendors
